Winning FB games is the silver bullet for all that ails BN, UF, the media, et al. PR fiascos, negative narratives and bad feelings evaporate like shallow puddles on sunny Summer days in the midst of a successful FB season. If Billy turns it around this season, I predict that Ali (etc., etc.) will find it in her heart to forgive the snub (again, if it actually happened). And if he doesn't win enough to satisfy the fanbase, he'll have a lot more to worry about than petulant podcasters. As I and others have already said, the moment of truth for the BN era is arriving a bit earlier than expected due to Billy's failure to field a well prepared, competitive, on field product. It is what it is.
No way around it. The numerous losses, due to the straight up bungling of winnable games, serve as Billy's chief on-field calling card at the moment. That needs to change in '24 or I doubt seriously that '25 happens for BN at UF. I have some hope that he can still turn things around, but I'm not terribly confident that he will. We are not in a good place at the moment, like duh.
I'd guess that everyone would much rather talk about how well things have progressed so far in the CBN era. I know that I would. But....
If UGA, Bama, Ole Miss, LSU, OSU, etc had our schedule they would win more than 6. The reason why 6 seems hard is because the roster in year 3 is still mid
Love Spurrier, but this is a guy who believed Muschamp shouldn’t have been fired at UF , and thought he would be the all time winningest coach at Carolina. He’s also put down Shane Beamer and how he’s ran the football program here.
I saw online that the Gators are 19th in the country in NIL Money. Sadly I believe that along with middle of the pack recruiting is hurting us. Florida State was 10th, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, Tennessee, are all outspending us. I later read where one of reason's Saban decided it was time to retire was after their loss to Michigan all the returning kids wanted to know is what where they going to get paid if they stayed at Bama. It truly is a different game that it's ever been.
Not really and no one listesn to what we say. As my mamma used to say "if you can't say anyting nice, don't say anything at all" that might aply to SOS if his speaking up improves our FB program, but not to Emmitt as his beef is with Florida Government, not UF. He's blaming UF for following the law.
The whole "don't say anything bad about UF" b/c it might hurt the school/program is just such drivel. First, if you win or on top, nobody cares about naysayers. Second, do people think if we say nothing but great things about UF football, nobody will notice 2 straight losing seasons? Sure, we all get tired of folks who constantly bitch, but pointing out shortcomings like the Arky fiasco and losing seasons is far from that line. Finally, if somebody (Emmitt) thinks the University/state are screwing up in a major way, they well should speak their mind, and any snowflake who disagrees should explain why they disagree rather than try to shout Emmitt down. He should not keep quiet about policies he finds "utterly disgusting". Likewise, if SOS thinks Napier is lost at UF, far be it from me to question his right to express an opinion of concern about his alma mater's team. Maybe it lights a fire under BN or BN reaches out to the HBC for advice and it helps, or maybe it galvanizes alums to fire BN if this season warrants (and that helps long term)? Who knows, but I do question why anybody would want these 2 gator legends voiceless?
Pure fiction, my friend. These Collectives, etc. are private organization and are under no obligation to share their NIL expenditures or revenue. If they do share, they are under no obligation to share accurate data.
Agree that Emmitt's take was inaccurate, but the conversation is worth having and Emmitt is someone who should be listened to at UF. Perhaps this is an opportunity for him to learn that UF really had no choice in the matter.
You can assume however and be fairly accurate by looking at recruiting a realize money is by far the biggest factor. Top classes are the most expensive and the order is fairly accurate.. we were 15 on signing day and creepy up to tenth.
