Game time updates: 1) FAU and UCF moved from 6:30 pm to 6 pm. STHs e-mailed, with the reasoning of "The time change was made to accommodate [opponent]'s travel schedule." Perhaps Boca Raton and Orlando have moved further away from Gainesville or the turnpike speed limit has changed or... something... since about 17 days ago when they were announced. 2) St. John's Sunday moved from 1 pm to noon. Not yet announced, but on the schedule page. Looks like another weekend of Rainesville, besides.
Wasn't it UCF the last time they were scheduled here were late arriving because of traffic coming out of Orlando?
Listed as a 4PM start, oof. Tuesday's Game vs. FAU Rescheduled for April 30 - Florida Gators Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
That's weird, softball doesn't play that day so its not a traffic thing. A mid week thing so its unlikely to coincide with any university event. I can only assume that FAU wanted something in return to reschedule so they wanted a start time that fans won't show up for.
It wasn't until now that I noticed our game at SWAC on April the 9th is now going to be on ESPN2. I'm really happy about that so it will be easy to watch an important away game. I was worried it would be another one of those ACC+ broadcasts with some FSU students calling the game. I'm sure we will still have to listen to the ESPN FSU talking head homer instead. But they should have a decent TV production crew.
FAU final exams run April 25 through May 1 (Thursday-Wednesday, which is just weird on its own). They already miss half of Friday, all of Saturday, and all of Sunday on a road weekend series. A 4 pm start let's players do the 7:30 am or 8 am final, get golf-carted to the bus, the driver's told to step on it, get here in time for the game, home by midnight-ish. It's likely several of the players have a whole day of makeup finals planned on May 1 and I wouldn't be surprised if a couple don't make the trip due to irresolvable conflicts.
True but the schedule posted has us playing against Nebraska 4 times: NCAA Regionals (5/31-6/3) ----------------------- 05-31.......FRI.....3:00 PM.......vs. Nebraska (SEC+) (W 5-2, W: Peterson (3-4), L: Brett Sears (9-1), S: Neely (3)) 06-01.......SAT.....7:00 PM.......vs. Oklahoma State (SECN) (L 1-7, W: Brian Holiday (7-3), L: Caglianone (5-2)) 06-02.......SUN....2:00 PM.......vs. Nebraska (SECN) (W 17-11, W: Slater (5-2), L: Jackson Brockett (3-3)) 06-02.......SUN....8:30 PM.......vs. Nebraska (ESPN+) (W 5-2, W: Neely (3-4), L: Carson Benge (3-2)) 06-03.......MON....3:00 PM.......vs. Nebraska (ESPNU) (W 4-2, W: Menendez (1-0), L: Tommy Molsky (6-3), S: Jameson (3))
Gators were the first team to play the #1 regional seed thrice and the #2 regional seed twice and come out the winner in the 16-seed era (since 2018). Just sayin'. Also, this + the 2-0 Super Regional took Sully's road Regional+Super record from 1-6 to 7-7. Again.. just sayin'.
