U.S. drops humanitarian aid into Gaza while ally Israel obstructs it

Russia does not remotely employ the same tactics as Hamas.

That’s not to say Russia isn’t evil or abhorrent, it’s to emphasize just how disgusting Hamas is.

Find me the video footage of mutilated corpses endorsed by Russia, find me the videos of women bleeding or defecating (or both) from their pants, also endorsed by Russia, and find me the reports of Russia hiding under civilian schools and hospitals.

Have Russians committed war crimes? Yes. Have there likely been some cases of rape and murder of civilians? Probably.

But it’s nowhere remotely on the level of scale or tactic as Hamas.

The entire strategy of Hamas is to brag about acts of terror DIRECTED AT CIVILIANS, then hide behind their own when Israel retaliates to get people like you in the West to feel queasy and yell at Israel.

What Hamas did was terrible and deserved a strong response but now Israel has killed 20 times what Hamas did and 10 times more IN JUST CHILDREN. Eventually when you act like that you just become who you are trying to destroy. At a certain point here Israel stops being a victim and becomes the bad guy. Is it at 20k dead children? 50k dead? When are we allowed to say they’ve gone too far?

Here’s a wager, the war in Gaza has a more favorable outcome for Israel, than the war between Russia and Ukraine has for Ukraine.

 

I do not have the perfect answer either. But I think we can clearly see what is NOT the answer.

We don't know how many more 10s of thousands more civilians will be killed in addition to the already 30,000+. Estimates are that up to 1.9 million people have been displaced. We are currently airlifting food to 100s of thousands of starving people. Surely this will get worse before it gets better. And Israel may or may not even be close to being finished!

This response to a terrorist attack is borderline, no probably, criminal. We don't have to possess a perfect response to something to know what is NOT a good response.


And a huge, rarely spoken element to all this : this will most likely not even result in a positive long-term outcome. Nearly all experts agree it will just breed more hatred and terrorists. All of this killing is merely punitive. But mostly towards civilians.

Crippling all military capabilities of Hamas to the point they no longer pose a significant threat.

Whatever the military equivalent is of castrating a rapist.

And when that is over, there will be peace until the next group emerges which inevitably will. Israel has the tough issue of being constantly surrounded by enemies, but that doesn’t mean you just pretend the threat has been dealt with just because you’re feeling bad about the body count.

It’s supposed to be Hamas’s job to protect their people, not Israel. Israel’s job is to protect their own people and their own interests. The people of Gaza should not have elected Hamas. And Hamas should not have provoked Israel.

Classic case of f around and find out.

Being attacked by terrorists does NOT give you carte blanche to kill children in the thousands. IDGAF where you live in the world or what was done to you or who you are.
And now that I've confirmed that yes, in fact, your plan is that Israel should be allowed to kill hundreds of thousands of civilians to complete their objective of temporarily neutering Hamas, I can now conclude that you are not a serious person. I mean, following your logic, Israel might as well kill everyone living in Gaza. Because if they don't, those people that do survive will just be attacking Israel again in a few years, perhaps with increased fervor.
