I’m certainly not one to condone poor sportsmanship, but holy s*** that was funny.

I was at the game in 1964 when the Cleveland Browns won their last championship. Unitas was QB for the then Baltimore Colts and Jim Brown was the star for the Browns. I doubt if they ever win another one.

While not a record, I did watch the Gators go 80 Yards in the 4th quarter at Doak to put the game away. That’s just didn’t happen in those days but we shoved it right down their throats.

Doak Campbell Stadium at Ron Zook Field.

Being at Stanford tennis stadium in1992 as we beat Texas in the final for our first National Championship; in those days it was six best of three singles matches followed by 3 best of 3 doubles matches - exhausting; every time Andy Brandi moved Stanford fans started heckling; he ruined their dynasty.

I thought Reaves’ record was for career total offense, not passing. Have I been wrong all these years?

I checked, it was the career passing record (7,581 yards).
    John Reaves - Wikipedia
Between more sophisticated passing offenses, four years of eligibility (freshmen weren't eligible when Reaves played), 12 games in the regular season plus post season games (there weren't conference championship games when John Reaves played and stats from bowl games weren't counted) he isn't even in the top 250 today.

As long as this thread is not just about football, in 1987, as a wee lad of 10, I saw Don Mattingly hit his MLB record sixth grand slam of the season.

I know we've been over it, but my folks brought us over from Naples. We didn't have tickets and scalped some. Unbelievable game and the Orange Bowl rocked. Was my first NFL game.

I don't know if it would be considered a record, I was present in the Orange Bowl when the Dolphins won their first game in the history of the franchise. October 16, 1966, the Dolphins beat the Broncos 24-7. I was in high school at the time and paid one dollar for a student ticket (roughly the equivalent of seven dollars today).

Joe Auer was the featured running back , right?

He was the featured running back although he only got 32 yards on 17 carries in that game. If I recall he had a larger impact returning kicks than as a running back during the Dolphins inaugural year.

I was in the stands at Legion Field the night that Alabama beat Auburn to garner Bear Bryant his 315th win for the record at that time.
