The Head Ball Coach is just saying what many are feeling. Glad it came from him, now folks can’t hit him with the “He’s not a true Gator” nonsense

..and the army continues to grow, a assistant DL coach has now been hired. Any day now he’s also going to double down on the failed 2 OL coach experiment and hire another OL coach. Can’t have the 3rd team OC overworked..

I'm sure much has been said behind closed doors. What he said wasn't uncalled for and is just the kind of jab that should make the bloated and under qualified Florida staff work to prove him wrong. Probably the idea.

We're mirroring Alabama in the same way that me hiring 2.1 million people to work at my garage sale is mirroring Walmart.

I watched a YT video from Ali Peek and her guest, Andy Staples, about this very thing. Andy said back in 2010 what Napier is doing today would have worked to perfection. But because of the portal and NIL, it's impossible for his "program" to work because if you don't show immediate results, that team you are putting together doesn't stay together. We've seen it since Napier came here - for all the great recruiting he's doing, he's bleeding half the recruits and most of the playmakers. His system won't work in 2024. Some have suggested he needs 4 years but DeBoer is proof that you don't need 4 years. Washington was in a far worse state than us. 80% of the team left when he came in and guess what, he came in exactly the same time that Napier came to UF. Yet, DeBoer had immediate success in Year 1 and then went to the CFP title game in year 2. He didn't put in place some monolithic program that takes years to develop, he recruited the guys he needed and through effective leadership and of course, playcalling, he got immediate results. Napier needs to change quick or he's gone next season. If he has another 5 win season or worse, he'll have a school record all to himself (he already does being the only UF HBC to have losing seasons in his 1st 2 years).

Thanks. Your post is right on. And, I agree, we can't fall behind because of money - screw the seats. We need the top kids. Granted, we recruited a couple awesome five star guys and some others that want to be Gators, and look to have tons of upside. FWIW- LSU has three five stare guys, Ohio State has two, Ga has one. and it's just March.

Start winning, we'll have plenty of $ for seats.

I'm planning for the young kids with experience to step it up this year. We need some guys to surprise us in a good way. I hope the transfers ball out well. But this decade plus of pain has to stop at some point.

And, RealGatorfan, I saw the Ali Peek show and he's right, times just changed and Napier need to be malleable and immediately shift.

Thanks to those busting their asses and showing up. Thanks to the kids wanting to wear Orange and Blue. God bless the Gators.

    Go Gators.

I love Coach Spurrier but he knows it and we know it that the NIL as it is and the transfer portal as it is … is ruining College Football. It will get worse until sensible Guidelines are set up. Cheating will still happen though. Winning our games will greatly help, but money talks bigtime. That’s why controls are important.

Do you actually know how much involvement Foley has; or are you stating your opinion?

I never said that he is involved in anything right now... Quit inventing words to suit your narrative.

Yeah, you clearly don’t know who SOS is. Your last sentence screams that you don’t.

Uh oh, SOS, it won't be long before Napier directs his staff to unfollow you.

Money that goes to the UAA could go to NIL. That’s the point. More assistants means less money for players

Reread the article. That particular quote has nothing to do with the total amount of NIL to players, but in how it is distributed across the position groups.

"Spurrier said he hopes Florida hasn't invested a disproportionate amount of its NIL funds at the quarterback position and hurt team chemistry as a result."

A coach has no control when a qb get 1M whereas the left guard gets 0.1M.

It is a stretch to think a booster would just cut a check to an NIL collective vice the non-profit UAA. And, in the grand scheme of things, you're not talking about a lot of money in this particular area. The booster contribution fund to directly support football operating expenses is budgeted at $2M. But, that can be any of the expenses including recruiting expenses and that 2M woudn't even cover the difference between what UGA is spending vice UF in recruiting.

Don't worry. If you didn't receive a draft notice in the last little bit, I suspect the only St Petersburg you're likely to find yourself in is in Florida.

Those traits became issues after he decided to transfer, try to keep up.

I love it. An actual opinion and not a series of words with no content, how refreshing. The funniest part to me is that thus far no one has really disputed his position or opinion, just upset that he gave it, speaks volumes.

How about you keep up. The short arms thing was about a recruit that decided to sign elseware, not ETN.

Secondly, his lack of blocking skills was talked about multiple times throughout the year.

Lastly, he was not really second string. He only averaged 2 carries less per game than Montrel. If he had not been hurt he probably would have been equal.

We have to see improvement and to me win numbers aren’t the be all end all. We have to look better. I’d be surprised if they haven’t checked the offering plate to see if they have a blank check. I think it took A&M a couple years to get the plate full enough to let Dumbo go. I have no idea what our plate looks like .

Yeah, I said it several times myself. Yet it didn't stop many, many posters (myself included) from saying give the ball to ETN or where is ETN? Only after his decision to transfer did his weaknesses become the focus.
