I was not referring to just this year. They beat us about as much as we beat them , or so it seems. Bottom line this was a bad loss. ok I’m done ! On to baseball. On my porch with a great cigar and some Wilford Reserve with 2 cubes .
I agree with 99% of what you just said with the exception of the last sentence that stated “ I’m confident we’ve got it now”. I didn’t see anything at the end of that game that gives me confidence that we’ve got a good plan against the 131 zone. The rest of the game I think the gators played very well and brought the fight to a tough team on the road. Still high on this team. if we can get this one glitch cleaned up I still think we’ve got a chance to make a deep run in the tournament. Go gators!
Also in case anyone is wondering, if USC is getting home cooking so that 60% of the fouls would be called against UF, the probability of eight in a row occurring is 1.67%
LOL. This team would be about .500 without Clayton. Not sure how you define elite. would start for all but a couple of teams in the whole country.
No , can’t agree . Elite does not turn it over . You must factor in basketball IQ also. Above average athlete, “elite shooter “. But not elite total player. I love him but I try and look objectively. I think Pullin is very close to elite. It’s ok to disagree. I promise I don’t give this stuff another thought.
My bad, but I think you quoted the wrong text. Didn't even mention him in the post you quoted. Then he changed his buttons on the second half.
I did. As soon as we put Samuel in the right position, that zone was busted. It just happened too late. We didn't have enough time left to win.
That's because we just settled for taking jumpo shots and turning the ball over after they went to the zone. Our guys got frustrated, quit playing sound defense, got beat down the floor a lot and committed a lot of fouls by reaching, slapping and not moving their feet. You don;t get fouls called when when just dribble and pass it around on the perimeter. You have to force the action and make the refs make the call. We quit doing that. And we didn;t get an offensive rebound the 2nd half until the last couple of seconds. Why? No inside game.
I will say that USC has only lost 5 games this year so they are a good team. No shame in losing a close one on the road to them. I hope we don't see them again just because I personally hate that style of play. Might as well watch a tractor pull.
Steph Curry turns it over a lot more in the clutch than I think a player of his caliber should. Elite players certainly can turn the ball over. He is still young and will improve, but you can't just teach what he has. His shooting is elite. And "above average athlete"? lol. He is a top tier basketball player who was also a top D1 football recruit. He is about 6'2" and can dunk in your face and only fools challenge him at the rim. Easily a 40" vertical. You try and take a layup on Clayton on a fast break and he is sending the ball into the stands 9 times out of 10. He is an elite athlete.
o was sitting right behind the Gators basket for the second half. I couldn’t argue much with the call on us )except one bad call) but they didn’t call anything on SC when we were on Offense. Pullen was fouled crazily on three straight possessions with no calls. Over the back against Clayton not called. Etc Really turned the game when we were trying to keep up with their surge.
Dribbling is part of the game. It's part of our game. In the second half when our guys would dribble around them, get slapped, run into a double team, get slapped again, in the face, and then usually turn it over. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you.
They play a tad better, organized, and less ragtag than Ga and LSU but they hack an awful lot. They don’t shoot great but did today against our porous defense.
And, their coach made a big defensive adjustment that we did not adjust to at all. Guy is a heck of a coach, considering that we are much more talented. How he has won 24 games with that roster… If he’s not coach of the year, I don’t know who is
