Withering pressure applied and we withered.

to me. This one didn’t feel like the previous second-half collapses. We had a solid 6 to 8 point lead going back-and-forth until they shifted into the zone and that’s when all hell broke loose. Really hope TG has some answers for future zone defenses.

They have the blueprint to beat the two zones that have troubled us, so if we struggle with it again, I'd be very surprised. If you noticed, it wasn't the 2-3 zone this time. If SCAR had gone to it, we likely would have been ready. I think next time we see a 1-3-1, Samuel will immediately be sent to screen the defender at the top of the zone.

Shred a zone?! For the last eight minutes of the game the zone shredded us.

And it rarely works too. Can’t have that crap in a close game.

Of course we do. Some here just seem to go out of their way to post negatives about the Gators/fans. Sad really.

A big question is what happened to our O rebounding in the second half? No doubt they were challenged but why did we not meet that challenge? I think we had zero or next to zero offensive rebounds in the second half. To me that's a want to or lack of want to reason.

Well at least we have something like three weeks till the NCAA tournament starts. I would think every practice we have between now and then will include a large section on beating a zone. TG is a good coach and a smart guy. He’s got to get this team to understand, whatever concept he wants to use to bust the zone.

Didn't LSU effectively use 1-3-1 against us? I hope we call a time out next time instead of letting a massive hemorrhage happen again. If Samuel is in foul trouble, we're farked. But man, the entire team didn't seem to have a clue.

I don’t expect TG to address specifics on how we would attack it because that would be tipping your hand. What I really would really like to hear him address the elephant in the room that we got destroyed by a zone and we are going to work tirelessly on that for the rest of the year.

I think we survived LSU without learning any lessons. That is why this loss was so valuable. If I'm being completely honest, I don't think Golden had quite remembered what to do in the fog of war until it was too late. By the time he had sent Samuel to set the high screen, the game was pretty much out of hand. I'm confident we got it now.

It did to me .. the turnover carnival started and I thought “no poise” and we are an exhausted basketball team

I’m not sure this was a valuable loss as it has happened too many times and have not learned anything. JMO

In case anyone is wondering, the probability of expecting evenly called fouls but getting eight straight is about 0.39%

This is the learning curve of Todd Golden. He came in and probably figured… how much will we see zone? Is it really necessary to spend a lot of time teaching it; preparing for it?
He is learning that answer. If you have an Achilles heel in this league… against these caliber coaches… it will be found and picked at.
I guarantee -this off-season there will be more time spent learning and preparing against different zone defenses.

Apparently! I remember the bad losses but that’s who I am. I’ll always be a coach
