Japan isn’t in ruins yet. Less debt is better than more but not sure we are over any tipping point.

According to the Democrats "we owe the debt to ourselves" so keep printing

I believe American citizens that hold US treasuries…… should have additional rights and benefits not granted to citizens who do not buy US debt ….. since they are funding the nation’s finances to a greater degree than others.:devil::D:D

Although I think getting our spending and revenue in line. This is sustainable as long as we are the trusted safe haven. I don’t see that happening for a while.

There is a quote from catch 22 I can’t quite recall but it has a character who espouses that better people should get more votes than regular people.

Please show me the last Republican POTUS who didn’t increase the debt?

Hint: he’s been dead since 1969.

Both parties spend like drunk sailors.

This took me back. Something about a Texan and technicolor. I remember asking my dad “what is technicolor”. My pops was an amateur photographer, so he went into a long explanation that made the Heller joke less funny.

I would also add that the last president who reduced the debt was a Democrat.

According to the Republi-ban, debt only matters when a Democrat is president. Otherwise, Allah-Trump will provide.

Certainly then, if you care about the debt, you will not be voting for Trump, the highest debtor President per annum in US history, correct?

Trump inherited a strong, growing economy and instantly fueled it with deficit spending and tax cuts, adding to the debt without concern for the future.

Tax cuts and pandemic relief measures enacted during the Trump administration added $8.4 trillion to the national debt over the 10-year budget window, according to a study released Wednesday by a top budget watchdog group.

Discretionary spending increases from 2018 and 2019 added $2.1 trillion, Trump’s signature Tax Cuts and Jobs Act added $1.9 trillion and the 2020 bipartisan CARES Act for pandemic relief added another $1.9 trillion, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB), a Washington think tank, found in a study released earlier this month.

Give it some thought. The answer should then be obvious. (I get a kick out of those who complain about debt and taxes in the same breath.)

Yes, it is a problem. However, it does not go on vacation when the gop is in power. It matters then too.

    This.

Trump’s signature Tax Cuts and Jobs Act added $1.9 trillion (to the debt)

Wait. I think we've come to the part where Trumppublicans ignore the fact that they are the biggest debtors in the US government.

LOL, I didn't read anything in the OP that made this red vs blue, it either matters or it doesn't.
