Let's not ignore that with the scorching Biden Economy offering previously unheard of job opportunities, the opportunity for foreign underemployed people to fill our insatiable demand for labor will lead to more undocumented immigration.

Why oh why didn't we just enact that lasting legislation Trump proposed that would have both regulated our immigration flow AND provided the highly documented work force that American business requires ?!!!!!!!

Spoiler : Trump proposed no such thing, he simply conned his voters. Which he is amusingly doing again.

I don't think it a matter of liberal/conservative, it really has to do with quality of the source. Why would you purposely read a source you know is suspect other than to enforce misguided views you already have?

You would get more accurate information from Fat Cletus down at the Waffle House.

    !

I realize you might be frustrated by your inability to lay a glove on me. Get used to it.
    "."
I referenced poorly educated illegals. Not "illegals." Not "immigrants."

A dozen or so years ago a Heritage Foundation paper reported that each illegal without a high school education would cost America $600K over their life time. That,'s benefits receivedinus taxes paid. The person who wrote the report for Heritage had a BS in mathematics from Harvard. 5 years later he was awarded a PhD in public policy.

I took his $600K figure and adjusted it for inflation and got $750K. Some people think the US might have 40 million illegals. For 2 decades our MSM has said America has "11 million illegals." I think the number could be as high as 40 million illegals in the US.

My conservative estimate for the number of poorly educated illegals in America is 20M.

    20M times $750K is $15 Trillion.

    Does my estimate sound "uneducated"?

Bringing in lower IQ people won't make America stronger in the long term.

Yes we will need more workers bc of changing demographics. I'm hopeful that SI and robotics will take care of some of that.

If you want traditional Americans to have more babies you have to make family formation more affordable. Democrat policies make family formation more expensive, lowering the birth rate.

Does this make sense to you? I think you're a good person and I wish you the best.

Yes, totally. It sounds laughable, in fact.

Unless, of course, you have a plan for the estimated 8-9 million employed illegals to be replaced with highly educated....well, what, legal immigrants?

It also sounds quite, well, "uneducated" to think that jobs picking crops and performing construction will be replaced by "SI" and robotics. I missed the plan from your compromised useful idiot on how that was going to happen. Saving it for the second term, I guess.

Yes. It's uneducated. The Heritage Foundation relied in very poor accounting methods to reach their conclusions. Among them are counting all payments with households with undocumented immigrants, even if the welfare recipient was a citizen child. They also used static scoring instead of dynamic, meaning costs today carried through the life of the immigrant. Static scoring says we're paying education costs for a 6 year old when they are 45 years old. Dynamic scoring says at 45, this immigrant is working and paying taxes.

Just looking at DREAMers, DACA recipients will generate billions in tax revenues during their lives. And this represents only 10% of the undocumented population. And many of these DREAMers were kids when Heritage did their flawed study.

So you think that long term America becomes a better place if illegals lower our national IQ average, lower per capita GDP,, increase crime? Lower IQ countries lose to higher IQ countries.

You seem to think that America can be an open borders welfare state without negative consequences. Ridiculous.

Although it was based on flawed research your argument regarding lower IQs reminds of the common belief over 100 years ago that Jewish, Italian and Russian immigrants were feeble minded and would lower the IQ of America. Turns out that the opposite was true.

Lower our IQ? Prove that this happens, please.

Lower per capita GDP? This doesn't happen. Because without immigrants, there are severe labor shortages and billions of dollars literally die on the vine. Agriculture alone is a $100 billion industry in the US, with about half the crops picked by immigrants. Throw in all the other industries where immigrant labor is significant and the GDP loss without their labor is huge.

Increase crime? Also false. Overstaying a Visa or being here undocumented is a misdemeanor. But when it comes to felony crime, immigrants commit less than citizens.

I don't want a free, open border. Nor a welfare state that welcomes all. In for a Gang of 8 style plan that expands our guest worker program to allow supply of labor to meet demand legally. This would require a background check for all that enter. And require those on a worker visa to be gainfully employed. Criminal background or out of work? Then you are subject to deportation.

The numbers speak for themselves. 3 million more open jobs than unemployed. And 8 million undocumented in our workforce. Deport these 8 million and who replaces their labor? What does the US look like with 6.5 million unemployed and 17.5 million open jobs? And what's your plan to address the labor shortage issues?

My argument was based on common sense and research done by a man with a Harvard BS in mathematics and a Harvard PhD in public policy. I said it was my OPINION that poorly educated illegals would cost the US $15 Trillion. That was a conservative estimate.

Nobody with any intelligence would have thought Jews, Italians or Russians would lower the average intelligence of America. That's not who is crossing our border now. The people coming in are of lower intelligence (on average) and they pop out a lot of babies. Not a recipe for success. You know that but you are too weak to admit it. Just like all of your Democrat Too Hot friends. All of you exude weakness and apparently there is no cure. Who did this to you?

Interesting that you brought up Italians, Jews and Russians. Ashkenazi Jews probably are more Italian (genetically) than anything else. The Palestinians being slaughtered in Gaza are probably more related to ancient Jews than the Israelis who are bombing and shooting them.

The Ukraine War is the result of Jewish hatred for Russians. Race/ethnicity is everything, despite whatever mantra liberals espouse when preaching DEI.
