Because I know how to use it and use it well. I would also point out that you have a very special ionic set of parameters. In that particular instance I pu k the rifle. Change the parameters just a bit and I may pick the shotgun or pistols. Why do you think handguns aren’t being targeted when they are the guns used the most often. If the idea is to save lives, stop the violence … why isn’t anyone going after the the guns used most often?
Okay, so larger magazines are more convenient for unloading a bunch of shots. Is there a reason why we might not want it to be more convenient for unloading a bunch of shots?
I mean, a number of places did put regulations around handguns (concealed carry regulations all the way up to outright bans overturned by the Supreme Court), so your argument that they aren't targeted is nonsense. I did pick a set of parameters: the parameters of most mass spree shooters. Large desired kill rate, people running in every direction, not just lining up to be killed by your handgun. People go after AR-15s because they are a more efficient weapon for mass killings. More killings occur with handguns because there are more handguns around and they can be an easy weapon for the majority of murders, which are attempts to kill relatively low numbers of people. People would prefer that mass shooters had to use the less efficient weapon for killing large numbers of people.
I just want to be clear… as long as someone feels justified calling someone a racist is ok? Does that go for everything? Your cool with that being the deciding factor? Because I don’t agree. I think there is a HUGE difference between calling someone a racist and telling someone their personal opinions/feelings to change the facts of the matter.

And I could also point out that two 20 plus rounds magazines in 2 9millimeters also allows for quick shooting of multiple targets. Please notice my argument has never been and will never be that the ar 14 is harmless, not good at shooting people( or targets). I’ve never claimed that. Now please. Please answer my question. If the ar 15 is NOT even close to the most used weapon for murder or mass murder why is it by far and away the most attacked? The stats, the evidence absolutely points to a 9 mm handgun as the one that should be attacked if the true desire is stop murders.
I wasn't trying to be "clever." In fact, I was walking you to a fairly simple point that you are trying very hard to avoid. That gun is attacked because it is more efficient at killing people than other guns. Nobody believes that we are going to stop murder. But it would be nice if a murderer had to work a bit harder for each murder during a spree mass killing, which would likely save lives.

Accept it isn’t the gun of choice. It isn’t the gun used to kill the most people. It is the most popular gun n America and comes in 3rd or 4th most used to murder. It is attacked because it is scary looking. Attacked because some morons think AR stands assault rifle. It is attacked because it is easy.

How many gun laws do we have in the books right? How many federal laws? State laws? Municipal laws? why are hose laws not working to make it a bit harder to murder people? Is it the gun of choice that’s the issue? Is it the way laws are enforced? Or is it something else.

Handguns are objectively harder to buy than are ARs (or any other non-NFA long gun) - nearly everywhere they are subject to longer waiting periods, there are more restrictions on transferring them across state lines, and you have to be older to buy them. It’s tough to get very meaningful data on the number of guns sold of any particular kind. About the best source I am aware of is ATF’s annual firearms commerce report. It reflects that the domestic manufacture of pistols is roughly the same as the manufacture of rifles and miscellaneous firearms combined (miscellaneous firearms consists of a number of things, but far and away the largest category is frames/receivers that haven’t been built into a complete gun - aka AR stripped lowers). The number of imported pistols dwarfs the number of imported rifles, but that’s a bit misleading because the U.S. import restrictions make most “modern sporting rifle” type platforms unimportable when they are in a rifle configuration because they don’t pass the “sporting purposes” test, but the workaround is to import them in a pistol configuration, which means that a large portion of those are not what you would typically think of as handguns (for example AK, or AR, or MP5, or Scorpion, etc. “pistols”).
