Granting Trump immunity possibly going into his 2024 revenge tour, otherwise known as his second term would be an abject disaster for this country.

No one should be above the law. I’m not even sure why this is a difficult question for some people on here.

People like you are why we need to justice system we have. People like you would have Trump tried, convicted and sentenced/executed before dinner. Without any right to a trial, without any right of innocent until proven guilty and without even seeing the evidence.

People like you are the problem, convict before they know any of the facts. People like you would've convicted the Duke lacrosse kids back in the day and were probably read to hang them when they were absolutely innocent.

Better a guilty man to go free than a free man to lose his freedom or even his life.

Justice delayed is not justice denied. Quite the opposite, justice rushed is justice denied. Justice based off the mob without a trial or even seeing all the evidence is justice denied.

Please answer Gatorrick's question. What specific law do you believe Trump supposedly broke when it comes to this specific case?

Heard someone on TV note that it took 45 days for the SC to hear and rule on the Colorado case that helps trump but it's going to take 116 days to even hear this case.

No one should also be convicted, tried and executed before a trial (which is exactly what you and many on here want). I'm not sure why that is so difficult for many on here to understand.

The only bullshit is people like you who want to have someone convicted and hung before their right to a trial. Before you've even seen the evidence.

You are no better than the people who wanted the innocent Duke lacrosse kids destroyed before you heard a shred of evidence. You probably hated it when the Duke lacrosse kids were rightfully found innocent. People like you are the ones who are a true danger to Democracy.

I'll ask again. Please tell me the specific law in this case that Trump supposedly broke?

I don’t know who is arguing that he should be convicted without a trial. The debate is about whether he can avoid trial based upon his claim of immunity.

The people who want a prompt trial want someone "convicted and hung" before a trial ? Weird.

SCOTUS and parts of federal court system are manifestly running interference for the Treasonist. We are very close to banana republic status.

    Corruptly Concealing a Document or Record (18 U.S.C. §§ 1512(c)(1), 2)
    Concealing a Document in a Federal Investigation (18 U.S.C. §§ 1519, 2)
    Scheme to Conceal (18 U.S.C. §§ 1001(a)(1), 2)
    False Statements and Representations (18 U.S.C. §§ 1001(a)(2), 2)
Conspiracy to Defraud the United States (18 USC §371)
Conspiracy to Obstruct an Official Proceeding (18 USC §1512(k))

Wut? If he’s to be executed he deserves a trial. Let’s start now.

As a leftie I oppose the death penalty in almost all cases. I’d be happy with life in a super max with only beyond meat burgers and no ketchup.

A prompt trial is the right of the defendant, not the Government. In our Constitution and Laws, the Government has no right to a speedy trial if it impacts the defendant's ability to have a proper defense.

Seems to be rather obvious that the SCOTUS by intentionally delaying its hearing of the case is putting its proverbial thumb on the scale in favor of the defeated indicted former president. The court scheduled oral arguments for the week of April 22. If the court wanted to expedite its review it could have just as easily scheduled the oral hearing for the week of March 18th considering that the parties have already prepared briefs twice, once for the hearing on the motion by the trial court and again for the appeal by the DC Circuit Court of Appeals. Same for preparation for the oral arguments. I would add that almost 24 years ago the Court heard Bush v. Gore within days of the request for the writ of certiorari and issued a decision days later. The Court could have also declined to issue a stay pending appeal so that the trial court could have commenced any pretrial hearings and the selection of a jury. While it's extremely unlikely that the SCOTUS will rule that Trump is entitled to absolute immunity they still gave him a tactical victory through the delay especially considering the relatively high probability of a guilty verdict if and when the case finally does go to trial.

Nothing about the people wanting a prompt trial wanting someone "convicted and hung" without a trial then? That was just something you felt like saying?

You don't even want him tried at all, just go straight to the acquittal. Talk about bullshit.

Immunity only applies to Trump because he can do no wrong. If Biden were to do that he should be arrested and sent to prison
