Momma said there would be days like this, but fear not . . . the season marches on. B-C hosted Stonehill opening weekend, took the first 2 games and lost the last. Beat FIU at home in a mid-week game. Then spent the next weekend at FGCU, lost the first 2 games and won the last. Now I start to wonder will Sully start Philpott who pitched 3 innings in 39 pitches on Sunday, who we have discussed would be good as a midweek starter. But its starting to look like Philpott needs to be ready for the weekends to chew thru some innings if the starters go less than 3-4 innings. I would hope we get a big lead and Sully tries to use some of the arms that have high ERAs and give them a chance to right themselves, like Jameson, Purnell, Clemente, Gomberg or Jones. Probably not all of them but maybe two or three for an inning each. Satin and Witmer should be available as well. If Philpott starts or not, its looking like a Johnny Wholestaff kind of night. If the bats get going you start to wonder would Sully rather end it early and save a few arms for next week or does he PH many of the young guys with late game at bats.
As for the bats, Cags only has 1 HR so far, compared to a kid at Ga Tech that has 8-9 already, hit 4 HR just last night. With the wind blowing out, it would be nice to see him start smashing a few hard to the OF wall if not over. I'm still not sure I like Cags batting second but if he's mainly hitting singles then batting second doesn't really matter any way. I know, sounds weird right? Look at it this way, So far Cags has hit only 2 extra base hits this season. Now here's the list of players that have hit more than 2 extra base hits - Mikey Robertson, Shelton, Evans, Heyman, Shelnut, and even Dale Thomas. Don't let the thought that he gets walked too many times fool you. We have four other players with as many walks or more than Cags right now. It might be a good night to let Thomas and Donay take a break. Brookins(DH) and Martinez(3B) need more opportunity. If Albert has another good night at 2nd, he has to be given a chance to beat out Thomas at third at some point. All this to say Sully still needs to tinker with the batting order, even though this team is one of the best hitting teams in the country. They just seem to miss out on too many run scoring opportunities.

Interesting lineup shuffle from Sully tonight—I like it. Let’s hope Jameson pitches tonight and doesn’t just throw it in the heart (especially in hitter’s counts).
It's another beautiful night for baseball here at the ballpark. Really like Sully getting other players in tonight. I hope Yost can show a few good at bats. Evans getting moved up is very different but very deserved. I'd rather see Garrison at catcher since Heyman on first. Either way I hope the bats are hot and we score 10 or more runs to give some pitchers a chance to relax.
Tonight is my turn to drive to bkb with my buddy. He called me at the last minute and couldn't go, but I came here anyway. I may leave at the half to see bsb. Already told him he's on his own next week. That was an advantage of the Mac- easy to see both.
That was weird. The scoreboard here had in big letters GAME CANCELLED up there for about 30 seconds. Somebody messed up somewhere.
We start the game with players already sitting out in the bullpen. I haven't seen that around here very often.
