The NFL couldn't handle an openly Christian player like Tim instead they like thugs like Ray Lewis. But that's another discussion.

Kurt Warner, Russell Wilson, Lamar Jackson, CJ Stroud etc have been openly religious, the NFL seemed to handle them just fine.

They didn't run anti-abortion commercials during the super bowl either.

Lol. The NFL cares about money. Tebow brought them a lot of that in his short tenure and would have brought them more if he had a longer, more successful career. Nobody ran Tebow out of the league for beliefs.

Okay, that’s fine, but I didn’t respond to the original post with the argument. You did. Again, you are welcome to think whatever you wish. My observations are based on what I have seen here on multiple occasions. It doesn’t come from an imaginary place.

False. I did not respond with “the argument”, and did not bring up race.

I’m still mad about Tebow not getting another legit shot to start. I believe he could have been a very good QB, and arguably that Super Bowl Peyton won with Denver could have been his. Peyton was terrible that year, so pretty much average play would still have been enough.

Making more money or playing football for longer is merely one very small aspect of success. Modern culture makes money and fame seem like they're all that matters but I think he may have benefited greatly from having more time with positive role models.

Aside from his laptop snafu when he was a college kid, Cam has been a model citizen. The main reason people don't like him is because of his attitude/personality (and because he wears funny-looking hats/clothes, I guess?), hardly stuff I'd consider him needing a "positive role model" for. Even in this situation, he was at a football camp where he's actually looking to help young athletes and was the victim of an assault, yet somehow that gets overlooked.

I don’t think he was run off directly for his beliefs. But his beliefs gave the media an excuse to create a circus. It was the media circus that soured owners on him.

With the right coaching (like a Mike Shanahan), I think Tebow would have been much more successful in the NFL.

You are missing a reason why people don’t like Cam.

And a damn shame about what happened at the camp. Good to see him rag dolling everyone though after it went to that point

I think the Tebow circus that followed him actually hurt. He was a distraction.

Unless someone writes a well documented collective history of this era of the NFL, we'll never know for sure - so it's ok that we just agree to disagree - but again the NFL likes money. Media circus = money. If Tebow did in the NFL what he did in CFB, teams would be clamouring over themselves to sign him and his media circus.

I wanted him to succeed just as much as every other Gator, but I've come to accept that his skillset didn't align well with the NFL at that time. It would be a little closer to aligning in today's game, but I still don't think he'd be shifty enough, nor slide enough, to survive.

Attitude and personality are subjective. I’ve seen people say they’re turned off by Cam because of his pompous attitude, arrogance (and because he didn’t try to recover a fumble in the Super Bowl, I guess?). In my opinion his attitude doesn’t bother me, sure he might be arrogant but I think deep down inside most people are, they just don’t realize it.
