I am very sorry to hear about your lost employments, dugger. Unemployment can be a bank breaking and heartbreaking affair. Hopefully, you have been able to come though it. As for germ theory, I do not think it is just another opinion. It is not just the belief of an individual. It is instead the product of a long struggle within a large community of critical enquirers and therefore deserves the status of knowledge. That said, I do not believe that one must accept all knowledge in order to deserve employment. E.g. A belief that the world is flat should not impede one’s success as a janitor, real estate broker, or fashion designer. But I do think it is proper to bar this individual from attaining the rank of professor of geology. The knowledge of a round earth is the standard of the field. In the separate political aspect you’ve brought up, I believe that private employers should be able to set their own conditions for employment. However, we must never allow the government to set a universal policy of belief in order to pursue happiness. All of our knowledge is fallible, and thus no body should ever be given the final say.
Ahh, the truth comes out. Two of the bigger antagonists on the board blame some outside influences for their issues. We have one anti-immigration fanatic who blames his dating woes on the fact that Hispanics are dating the white women he's interested in and an anti-virus/vaxxer blaming the "non-virus" or its vaccine for his job woes. I suspect both would be far better served looking within rather than blaming outside.
I’m late to this thread but this story is more important than you might think. About two months ago I wanted to volunteer at a well known TBI clinic in Atlanta. One of their requirements was a “current” measles inoculation, or blood test to evidence same. So I went to my doc and got the blood test-and to my surprise my measles inoculation had worn off over the past 60 years. OK, easy fix. Get another shot. Well, the problem with that is there are no more measles only shots, just a combined MMR one. Except I don’t need the other M and the R, and my doc said there could be some problems vaccinating against protected diseases. So I said I’d think about it. 2 weeks later I learned of a friend admitted to Piedmont hospital with myocarditis. (Let’s not turn this into another Covid thread), and she had just gone through the same situation. After 10 days of testing and resting the cardiologists at Piedmont concluded her condition was triggered by the MMR. So I decided to not get the shot. Point being-how many of us 60’s somethings or older are running around no longer immune to measles but thinking we are? This could become a huge problem on many levels if it starts to break out among the elderly. The med community needs to make a measles only shot available again.
Yes, of I agree that employers should be able to establish their own criteria. I even wore a mask, in the early going, in deference to property rights. Granted, I registered my displeasure even as I commended those property owners who did not require masks. Virology as an established field of study is actually only decades old. It was founded was founded on presupposition and what is considered viruses has never been established via scientific method. I should say that virology is underpinned by an age-old and nearly universal belief in contagion. Of course scurvy was thought to be contagious until it wasn’t. John Enders is said to be the father of virology. I posted the article on his measles paper. See what you think.
Jesus Christ you are dumb. I’m sure you have all this evidence from legit sources that show that only 5% of the population is still getting the Covid vaccine. Then again, you think Ladapo is brilliant in the face of all evidence to the contrary so somehow I doubt it. You claim to have all these sources that support what you spew, but then never actually link them, and the few times you do post shit, it’s garbage like Dr. Drew YouTube videos or idiotic anecdotes. You are a JOKE and should have been banned off here long ago. Please leave the science talk to those who actually understand it and go back to checking people in at your wife’s dental practice, something you actually understand and are I’m sure good at. Back on ignore you go, just wanted you to know what everyone else thinks of you.
Jeebus you grown-ass male football fans just counting your days until your next shot. Watch out! A mouse!
I think I speak for everyone when I say we’re over the unfounded, absolute arrogance from this clown. He’s a joke, I know it, we all know it. The amount of misinformation he posts on a daily basis would have gotten him banned already from pretty much any other social media platform. He provides absolutely nothing of value to this board and acts like he knows better than 99% of the worlds scientists and doctors who have the complete opposite views of his. The only “proof” he ever posts are bogus articles and videos from well known and discredited anti-vax sources. Over it with this guy.
We also have no idea how long the polio vaccine provides protection. The entire concept of these vaccines is that you reach a critical number of people in the population that are immunized, and the virus has no where to go and replicate. With more and more idiots not vaccinating kids, it is not just the life of the children they are risking, it is all us. Thus, there should be ZERO exceptions other than the most dire medical exceptions.
Considering only 17% of the population took the first bivalent booster and it has been reported acceptance was lower than expected on the most recent. I say 5% is fair for the new booster. There is a reason the cdc has not posted the actual numbers! But here is their (cdc) last update for the old bivalent booster… COVID Data Tracker Sure would be fun to see the numbers on this latest one. I am sure you are one of the 5%ish that took it. And you probably only believe the cdc when you want to as well (that said…you should question them at this point but hard numbers are hard numbers and censoring the updated numbers is purposeful of you ask me. Which fauci/big pharma/hitler/etc would do).
Q, but I have both on ignore as well. Had to unblock him one last time to let him know where he stands. Dude is unbelievably arrogant for no reason and is stunningly ignorant on vaccines.
Sadly, he represents a large number of Americans (especially governors and state "surgeons general) with an absolute woeful knowledge of anything science or mathematics related.
Typical. Ad Hominem. Your own cdc shows you are part of the very small minority still taking the shot. It is clear the vast majority in medicine know the shot is a joke. But if it makes you feel better about your decision to take the shot and then take shots at me. So be it. I recommend you find a doctor living in 2024 before you take another covid shot and don’t listen to the idiotic recommendations at the cdc. There is a reason hardly anyone is taking the covid shot these days!
The only way to stop them is - banning them - blocking them - just not responding to them. I view them as trolls and if I were a board admistrator I would ban them as such. I am all for free and diverse expression but there are limits on a message board and trolls do nothing to advance the conversation. I have about a half dozen on ignore. unfortunately there are those here who think they are on a righteous mission to correct the trolls, and thus feed them constantly and give them the attention and the visibility they desire. They think their countless rebuttals are a public service but in fact they are actually perpetuating the misinformation.
