I was a kid sitting 7 rows up in the closed end zone of the Orange Bowl in 1984 when Marino became the first QB to surpass 5000 yards vs Dallas Marino also threw his record setting 46th, 47th and 48th TD passes in that game. Crushing the previous record by 12. Mark Clayton set the receiving TD record in the same game. A year later I was there when they handed Da Bears their only loss and ruined their perfect season. (Still the coolest sports memory from my childhood) (My dad somehow used to get tickets to the MNF games and we would travel from Port Charlotte over to Miami) I also was there when Tebow broke Kevin Fauik's SEC TD record in 2009 bs FIU. (He also had his longest career run in that game). I saw SOS get his worst career loss (56-6) When Florida crushes USCe in 2007.
I don’t remember the exact years, I had a BIL the was a mechanic on a team, about ten years in a row I was able the attend Gator Nationals and every year a record was set. I was there for the first 300mph run.
I was at the game where Larry Bird scored 60 points to break the Celtics' single game scoring record. 40 years later, the record still stands. It's the only NBA game I've ever attended.
Was at Darlington when bill Elliot became "million dollar bill ". a helicopter flew over the stands and dropped million dollar bills with his face on them to the crowd . Hope I have better than that in my lifetime but watching the Atlanta truck race and it's the best I can come up with .
I saw Bobby Joe Green’s 82 yard punt against Georgia in 1958. Gators won that one 7-6 and that punt, and Jimmy Dunn’s TD run from scrimmage were the highlights from a typical Bob Woodruff coached game. I think that punt is still a Gator record.
I was there when a bull picked me up with his horns and threw me into low earth orbit over Pamplona. Not officially recognized by any ruling body, but it was a helluva trip!
