Late night in Duval for AU Iowa SP Brody Brecht was as advertised. 6 IP, 2 H, 11K, 2 ER. Kyle Peterson whos calling the tourney, says best pure stuff in country,, namely the slider. FWTW, not a KP fan personaly. Brecht left w/ 3-2 lead.. First batter after he left AU hit solo shot to tie it, and piled on after that. Fabian didnt start. Entered in the 7th, got 1 AB, sac bunt. Went w/ the defense option at 3b, who made 2 great plays , including a game saver early to prevent big Iowa inning. But went 0/2 w/ 2 Ks.. I expect Deric starts today. SEC went 10-4 Fri. Including Ole Miss 4th straight loss. Hogs Hagen Smith Kd 17 in 6 IP.. Great game. Beavs rallied late to tie it, but Arky scratched in b 8th to take lead and win it.
Good day for Fabian in the loss. 3/4 solo HR. Had a runner on base other 2 hits but that runner weighs 270.(**AU hit into bases loaded DP next batter both times) Made a great play on D also. Added a 3 RBI dbl off wall in saturdays 19- 8 run rule of Shockers.
