Cade hiding that right hand in the high five line. Hope he’s ok.

Cade-yes…..Jameson and Purnell—not so much. Jameson’s got to figure out he’s not good enough to pitch in the heart of the plate and Purnell has got to pitch in the bottom of the zone.

Safe to say Gator pitching was around the plate a lot: 17 K, 71% strikes, and 0 BB/HBP. Columbia hit .524 when they made contact. I wonder if this was just some anomaly or Sully's strategy was "make them earn it".

Just back from the game. Glad it wasn't as cold as Wednesday night. Tomorrow should be a nice evening for baseball. This was Columbia's first game of the season so they are even more green than we are in some places. Obviously they have a few good hitters we need to protect against so I'm looking forward to how Peterson handles them tomorrow. The crowd size was average but no where near the 6,000 announced. Hopefully tomorrow night is a better turnout.

Someone on another message board was telling me that this Columbia team is fairly plucky and the coaches pull talent from all over, so they are not a typical pushover. TIFWIW.

bigD—I think I heard’em say last night that this HC has 19 years under his belt so you’ve got to figure he knows how to recruit.

No idea how good this Columbia team is, but they have made the ncaas several times and beat Miami in cg a few years back.
