Who said it was not detected before it was over the US? All the story said was that it was "reported" on Friday, not "just detected" on Friday.

Reading up on your Japanese and WWII history I see. Well done. Japan has already done this and it was not very productive. In fact, only 5 Americans were killed from the nearly 200 balloons released. 5 people out on a picnic in Bly, Oregon found a downed balloon and investigated. That one had no germs but an anti-personnel bomb. Several in the group were killed instantly, the others died later. Been there, defended that. Next.
