that's true it's completely unchecked but if you're reffing P5 basketball, being incompetent isn't an excuse. You're either a high Div 1 level ref or you're not. If you're not you have no business reffing these games, especially for the money they make. I also have a hard time believing they're not dirty when they blow a whistle on Haugh guarding Sears before he even touched him. That's at the very least a ref with an agenda. You're right, there's zero accountability, which given the amount of money that is being legally bet on college basketball games, that is awfully suspicious activity that warrants an investigation, and that kind of suspicious call or no call happens all.the.time.
"Bama paying refs. What's new": Refs get the heat from college hoops fans after officiating blunder clouds Alabama vs Florida basketball game
agree and BOTH by Wague. He "inadvertently" knees him in the head, then purposely elbows him in the head. For 3 seconds he went full MMA on him, and somehow Condo gets called for the foul and no review. With 3 refs watching.
if another team is committing 5 times as many fouls and gets called for 15% less, then yes it's cause for concern. Just because the foul totals are similar has nothing to do with how it should have been officiated. All it does is cover the ref's ass when they do a quick look at the box score, then move on. It's all CYA
Condon is too tough. He should have pulled a LeBron and sold it more by rolling around on the floor grabbing his head so the refs would have had no choice but to review it.
More like Harden. Lebron gets hacked nonstop on drives and gets far fewer calls than most. Surprising given the normally favorable star treatment.
Gators need to make this trash and his trash teammates a living hell when the Alabama squad comes to Gainesville. SEC = clearly best conference and clearly worst officials. Year in year out and nothing gets done about it.
I posted question on another thread. Question: Is there conference affiliated refs in college basketball? I know we have them in football which I despise but I thought for college basketball they do not get paid by a conference or report to a conference but are just in regions of the country. Is that correct?
