HA! Yes, vent away all you want! : )

    Yes, I know the difference....But you're like yesterday's officials: One-sided with your calls! : )

All good fellas. Just having some fun.

    Is it March Madness yet?

lol! I honestly wasn’t meaning to have a side. I like both these posters. It just seemed out of character.

    Anyway… vent on!

I wouldn't say we are elite. We keep letting teams off the hook, which is aggravating, and it cost us a couple games and almost a couple more. I don't know why, but the defeats are worse when we have the lead most of the game and then lose at the end versus when you are playing catch up all game and just can't get there. Elite teams put their opponents away. That said, we are very good and I feel we can go toe-to-toe with anyone in the country at this point in the season. If Kugel had progressed from last year to this year the way we thought he would, then I think we would be elite.

Come on man. What a liberal definition of elite. If we are elite so are 40 other schools. But we are a good team but not elite.

If you go back to Golden's teams at SF, this was usually a two guard offense: two ballhandlers with high usage rates (25+) and high shot volumes (12+). I think his version of ball continuity offense feeds into that because it gives guards with handles and a shot freedom to get their own looks. Not as great for 3 and D sorts of guys.

On Kugel, not sure I see the Haugh-level comparison at all. Unlike some here, I consider him a high level defender. I also think his ability to create his own shot, especially from the arc (his step back is killer) is terrific, and he probably is the best on this team in transition. He is unique, and the kind of athlete we really need when we start playing against the big boys in the tournament.

Yup, good call on his SF offense. But that was not how our O was to start the season. We fed Samuel a lot in the early going, then over time it all settled.

Regarding Kugel/Haugh....I mean, I was pretty clearly not comparing their skill set, but ok.

Either way, hope he gets his mojo back and contributes in a big way. I think we'd all love that.

Venting about the game and attacking a poster who didn't even engage the person are different in my opinion. Bazza is a loyal and positive poster but I have seen him critical about certain coaches. Sure it's a forum and there aren't rules of engagement but it did seem a bit harsh of a response to an OP that praised the team and was pretty frustrated at the outcome of a game we should have won....imho.

That guy is in love with bama, and always poor mouthing our teams and fans. I never really understood how he got this rep as a positive poster or some kind of sunshine pumper.

    OK thanks.

Mostly my reply to you was trying to help clarify your questions....and elaborate from my perspective.

Past that......it really comes down to how you want to be portrayed on a message board.

    And specifically as a Gator.

I'm sensitive to how we as a fan base are perceived by content on our message boards....in particular after a loss. By and large we do really well, IMHO.

I said my peace and am ready to move on.....cheers!

Bazza clearly doesn’t care about hostility and insulting me as Bazza was the one who quoted my post and started the beef.

    What the heck Baz?
    How is he wrong?
We lost the "close" game because of a 4 or 5 point swing on a blown no-call that led to a suspension. A call mind you that the officials were asked to review and declined.

Just seeing this right now after my other responses (late work day) but too little too late. You are on my $hit list. Yeah I’m bitter when attacked.

I'd like to see Condon be more aggressive in looking for his shot at times. He seemed more aggressive to me earlier in the season, and usually with good results. Now, there are a lot of plays where he passes after making a move that seems to put him in good position to take a shot.
