I can’t find the clip of the one player boxing match but it seems plausible the correct call could have gotten us back in (flagrant. FT’s, technical, ejection, ball possession) It seems strange to me they missed this call that was easily seen and didn’t review it yet reviewed every ball out of bounds play that occurred late in the game. They reviewed a lot of calls late in the game; which is fine by me but failing to review this scrum is disturbing.
I'm not a basketball expert, the Gators are just about it in as far as watching B-Ball. It sure seems to me that a recent trend has begun to develope where by the Ref's allow opposing teams to raise the bar for physcality when the Gators are on offense, but continue to call a tight game on the Gators when their on defense? Maybe its my bias eyes, I dont believe so as I do try to be objective, but I just feel lately the later stages of Gator games are not being called evenly.
What I saw was Condon getting a hard knee to the side of the head. It might have been a different play, not sure.
I would say your view is spot on. It’s analogous to playing football vs Alabama or at Auburn. In some games, the free throw disparity is ridiculous. Most all of us fans only want the game to be officiated fairly and consistently. Close games are all to often determined by incorrect calls late in games.
Kidd literally threw an elbow into the neck back of the head of a man who was down. Incredibly dangerous and ridiculous - deserves at least multi game suspension. Since it’s bama the sec will ignore it.
Not by Bama...they don't even mind if they have accessories to murder not missing a minute of game time.
Nothing will happen. Hands will be wrung, mostly by us. Tuts will be tutted...but nothing will come of it.
Gator fans get accused of having a victim complex but how can we not given the difference in reporting and reputation over the years? This is the same Alabama team that received very little scrutiny after the gun/murder situation last year. The same player that stomped on the hand of the Auburn player just this year and now this? Watching Georgia, Bama and others get passes for egregiously bad recruiting, culture and violent situations while we were dragged by the media over the years is pretty frustrating
It's the same play, watch the video aka linked in post #9. I'm willing to let the knee go, that could have been incidental. But the slomo of the elbow to the head right afterwards sure looks intentional. I couldn't tell much at full speed, and I don't think anyone on UF complained at the time so I get why it was never reviewed. But its out there clear as day now, so the SEC can't ignore it... Well that's not true, the SEC can easily ignore if they choose too, its Bama we're talking about here.
Welcome to the SEC. This has been a longstanding pattern with SEC officials in both basketball and football.
My problem is the consistency in all games, not just ours. Either allow the defender to touch the offensive player with one hand or don't. The problem is you see arm bars that are fine while also seeing light touches that are fouls. It's maddening.
Watching it live I didn't notice it and @Nick_Marcinko posted the tweet and I still didn't see it until I watched it the second time.
Many of the critical calls went Alabama's (the home team) way, and as long as that is the way it goes in Gainesville, I have no problem with it.
