If he can't get his BA above .455, he needs to bunt more.

Really impressed with several of the Gator hitters tonight. It looked like a concerted effort to finally start taking advantage of the shift. Robertson, Shelnut, Shelton, and Evans all seemed to be going oppo with many at bats tonight. We have said Robertson hits much better at practice when he goes oppo. If he pulls it he usually hits a lazy pop fly or a weak ground ball to the right side of the infield. Every time he came up to bat I was yelling hit the ball to left. Some drunken fan in front of me one time yelled hit it out of the park and I yelled back NO hit the ball to left. That's when Robertson got his first double down the left field line. I also noticed before the game Robertson was very relaxed giving every teammate a bro hug as they finished their pregame huddle out behind second. He sure had a big smile on his face standing there at second after his 4th hit, second double, of the night.

Evans is also hitting the ball sharply but its staying up into deep RCF and getting caught. I believe it was Evans hit ball that the UNF CF made the great sliding catch and Shelnut was surprised he had to run back but got tagged out over by first. Good thing Evans is making good contact. He just needs to hit em where they ain't. Credit to Shelton who was not contributing much at the plate but took advantage of the shift and laid a nice bunt down. The crowd gave him a nice applause for that one.

That said I still think Kurland need to lead off. He has much better instinct about the game on the base paths. I don't really care where Robertson bats, just so long as he plays CF and keeps hitting the ball to left. Good things will happen if he does.
