another of Russia best jets go down. 7 in a week.

Ukraine took out another Russian fighter jet, bringing its kill streak to 7 in a week (msn.com)

Ukraine said it destroyed another Russian fighter jet on Wednesday, bringing its kill streak to seven in one week.

The commander of Ukraine's air force, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, said on Wednesday that Ukraine had taken out a Su-34 fighter bomber.

"One down, we keep working," he posted on Telegram, according to a translation by Pravda. "The crew of the Su-34 has joined our Eternal Flight Brothers section."

China's biggest banks are finally getting scared by the West's sanctions against Russia (msn.com)

Three out of China's Big Four state banks have halted payments from sanctioned Russian financial institutions, Russia's Izvestia news outlet reported on Wednesday.

The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, and Bank of China have stopped the transactions since the start of 2024, Alexey Poroshin, the general director of investment and consulting firm First Group, told Izvestia.

While the three Chinese banks informed their Russian clients of the move in January, the issues started in December — after the European Union imposed its 12th sanctions package against Russia, Poroshin said. In December, the US also authorized secondary sanctions targeting financial institutions that help Russia skirt sanctions.

Chinese banks are tightening compliance checks with Russian businesses because they fear getting caught up in the West's increasingly restrictive sanctions regime against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.

past time to up sanctions, if possible, on Iran for helping Putin. Seems like it would be best for Ukraine if these shipments could be intercepted and destroyed. Hard to believe that the US or others cannot identify when and how these shipments are being moved.

Russia Receives Massive Missile Stockpile from Iran (msn.com)

According to information disclosed by Reuters on February 21, Iran has provided Russia with “a large number of powerful surface-to-surface ballistic missiles”. Sourced from multiple individuals, it was revealed that Iran dispatched around 400 missiles, which included numerous variants from the Fateh-110 missile series capable of reaching distances up to 700 kilometers.

Following Russia’s military operations in Ukraine, which started in February 2022, the country has surpassed Iran in terms of the number of international sanctions imposed against it. There exists a strong alliance between Russia and Iran, as well as with other nations facing international isolation, such as Syria and North Korea.

An early January report by The Wall Street Journal initially indicated Russia’s intentions to procure short-range ballistic missiles from Iran. Soon after, on January 15, the ISW (Institute for the Study of War) suggested that Russia and Iran were close to finalizing a treaty to bolster their military-technological cooperation.

Reuters received information from a source that declared the missile deliveries started in early January 2024. The source outlined that the deal was conceptualized during high-level meetings between Iranian and Russian military and security officials in Tehran and Moscow toward the end of the previous year.

Russian Troops Reportedly Killed While Waiting for General in Donetsk (msn.com)

Dozens of Russian troops have reportedly been killed as they stood in line in an open field awaiting the arrival of a top general in Ukraine’s Donetsk region.

Citing footage and photographs from the scene, the BBC’s Russian service reported Wednesday that up to 60 Russian troops were wiped out in the Ukrainian missile strike, which occurred Tuesday shortly before President Vladimir Putin and his defense minister gathered to boast of military victories in a televised meeting.

Members of several companies of the 36th Guards Motor Rifle Brigade, based in the city of Borzya in the Zabaykalsky region, were said to have been hit in the reported HIMARS strike. A surviving soldier was quoted as lamenting that “commanders lined [them] up in an open field,” in footage cited by the BBC. The news outlet said it had decided against publishing footage from the scene for ethical reasons.

Shortly after the reported deaths, authorities in the city of Borzya canceled a pro-war concert and several other celebratory events that had been scheduled for Feb. 24 to mark the anniversary of the start of the full-scale war against Ukraine, according to local reports.

The Iranian shipments are most likely going by ship through the Caspian Sea. Ukraine may be able to access some of these ships once they get F-16's, if they can get info on which ships are hauling weapons, and can get clearance to overfly some countries in between Ukraine and the Caspian.

NATO has more countries investing 2% of their GDP in defense than they have in decades. And while Russia is investing more in weapons than they have in years, they are burning up their weapons and ammo almost as fast as they can make them.

As it stands, you are completely wrong. Get some better propaganda.

I have never heard of a war that was won or lost with polls. Sounds like a tool of a propaganda peddler. If the U.S. Congress can get its act together, Ukraine will get what it needs and get back to winning. And, presumably, you'll get back to whining. (You will probably think that you are winning, but no, you will just be whining.)

From someone who doesn't know what "high ground" means, you don't have much room to talk. You have been in the Russian swamps of propaganda so long, you wouldn't know the high ground if you stumbled into it.

What makes you think it's propaganda? It sounds like the truth. It is a very condemning indictment of . . . YOU ! ! ! You support cutting off the military aid to these people, and then casually post how they are dying off and losing the fight, like that is somehow unrelated to the republican traitors and policies that you support. Look in the mirror, man. YOU are the problem.

Wrong again, propaganda boy. We were seeing Russia's military laid to waste at minimal cost to American taxpayers. Now we are seeing the Ukrainian people laid to waste at NO COST to American taxpayers. We give them weapons and ammo, they fight and win; we don't give them weapons and ammo, they fight and lose. Propaganda peddlers like you are the reason that Ukrainians are dying at such a rapid pace. Just because you want to see your Russian barbarian heroes be successful on the field of battle. Disgraceful.
