I'm a member of the orange and blue tribe. Still looking for a "blue babe" though with orange hair! I think they were called

That would be an odd choice with the plethora of liberal universities in the western part of this great state. (I say this as a conservative mind you)

Undoubtedly, I might get pulverized for posting this but ............. I think economic stratefication and bias is an even more severe problem than race in the USA, and as we all know the American track record with race is beyond abysmal.

 

I have no problem with races & cultures mixing in this country. What I have a problem with is the people who come to this country to escape the cruelty and oppression in their own country then refuse to try and fit into our way of life. I hate sitting in a waiting room with a bunch of people speaking Spanish only to learn they speak perfectly good English when their name is called to the reception desk. We need immigrants like John Banner (Sgt I know nothing Schultz) who immigrated here when Hitler annexed Austria in 1938. He learned English in 3 years and in 1942 joined the US Army Air Corps.

You come to America to become an American not to be an African, Mexican, Scandinavian living in America.

 

What do you "absolutely love", louisiana? That an article in the NYT suggests some Black people may be happier or find have greater financial security by moving to Africa? Or is your greater ("absolutely love") satisfaction derived from visualizing the idea as a "big smack in the face" towards advocates of diversity?

It's evident you are one of those who "want to be with their own kind," touting as often as you do your White Christian Nationalistic preferences frequently woven into the threads you start and post in on this forum.

Is diversity a weakness, as you posit, or does diversity expose innate prejudices and intractable social conflicts that divide rather than unite? There will always be those who desire to return to the land of their ancestral roots but the vast majority will stay where they were born and are entitled by birthright to live.

Change is better handled when it comes organically rather than through force or intimidation. The deeply rooted racist prejudices and resultant injustices that color our cultural/social sphere were centuries in the making and will not be resolved by force or edict. Lasting changes will come from within, after recognizing the inequities and how selfish, short sighted decisions and despicably greedy actions of foolish ancestors put us in this untenable situation. Recognizing and acknowledging those historical facts as our inescapable destructive legacy, coupled with constructive dialogue is essential in mitigating the great harm done to African American people. It is the way to effect genuine reconciliation. Your tack on the topic is not constructive

You failed to mention white European settlers did not merely immigrate to these shores and occupy uninhabited territory. In overwhelming numbers they took land from indigenous tribes of people who were here centuries before Europeans knew this continent existed. The cross cultural pollination scene was laid out by massive numbers of English, French, and Spanish explorers and fortune seekers who brought their heritage from other places off the shores of the land they claimed and now possess.

What is it you actually want? Do you want all non-white people to exit the US and return to the countries their ancestors emigrated or were stolen from, to come to these shores, or do you want "black Americans" to shut up, acquiesce, stop complaining and conform to your White Christian Nationalist vision of the U.S?

A curious phrasing - "if you decide to go, please bring as many poor, slighted victims with you."

Bring indicates movement toward the speaker, and take indicates movement away from the speaker.

Your request is coherently confused in syntax as one planning to depart would be requested by another to take someone or something.

If you're moving something to a person, you should always use bring. Use take when moving something away from a person, as a request to bring something is cogently made by a person already in that location.

My old friend degator, a former Pub moderator from more than 20 years back, lived in Louisiana for a while and occasionally would ask me, "Where you at?" A Cajun colloquialism meaning how are you doing; what are you thinking etc.

Your posts on this forum are a strong indicator as to where you at. But I wonder why you persist in announcing and pushing all your controversial views on women, sex, race, politics on this forum. What are you looking to gain or achieve?

 

You consider "our way of life" not being bilingual? What a weird thing to get hung up about. Pretty much every actual white European is bilingual to some degree lol. In American you can get away with knowing one language, but that's basically not normal almost everywhere else.

 

OK, but where is that track record “good”? The U.S. has a problematic history to be sure, but it isn’t helpful to view that history in a vacuum. I’m just not sure what the model countries were on race relations during the worst years of our history. That is not to say “everyone was doing it” is some kind of excuse. But the great powers of the 19th Century were certainly learning together (slowly) rather than the U.S. was being dragged by the nose into racial equality by the superior example of other countries. I think it’s very important to remember that.

I know exactly what you are looking for. Those places are 50 years in the past still hoping the south will rise again. The lack of technology does hamper the ability to watch Dukes of Hazard reruns which is a downer for them.

Not at all surprised to see West Virginia at the top of your list. Why didn't you go back there when you first posted on this site as OrlandoGator 5 or 6 years ago and informed us that was where you were from?

Nor do I claim to be an expert on racisim in the 19th century.

However from my admittedly limited knowledge of the subject:

The picture I am painting is that slavery was on it's way out by the mid 1800's in many European
nations. At least politically.

Of course that decision was made here in the US at the staggering cost of 625,000 lives by 1865.

Not that I'm trying to paint a rosy picture of Europe, oh no, not for those aristocratic, back stabbing, inbred,
blue bloodied Windsors, Hapsburgs and the like. They have more than enough sins, to make up for the mistakes
of the USA from 1861 to 1865.

 

Would you get annoyed at my wife and her mother speaking German in a private conversation in a doctor's office? Do you realize that if you don't use a language you will lose it?

Fair points. I can't compare and contrast the United States' history on race relationship with other countries, but it's also worth noting that our official and sanctioned racism continued for about another 100 years after the Civil War.

 

yes, put me down as we need a controlled border and who is entering. But we’re mostly fortunate where the majority of the migrants come from. ie Latin America. Hopefully im not overreaching, but imo they are closer to us in culture. Christian faith, maintain strong family bonds, want to work, recognize the basic Western system of gov/laws and in my experiences, amenable and respectful to interact with. They seemingly want to assimilate with our society albeit while maintaining aspects of their culture. Now compare this to parts of Europe that encountered mass migration from the Middle East. There are significant differences in each of those areas and that has created additional problems.

 

This is CRAZY!!! Why limit yourself to this small track of topography. The world is such a big place. Expand your search, broaden your reach. There’s loads of viable places all over the earth — look to White Russia. I mean, they call it WHITE Russia.
