Many on both sides (including Democrats) have been calling for comprehensive reform for many years. The recent numbers of those showing up and seeking asylum have obviously made the situation less sustainable IMO.

This whining falls on deaf ears now. Republicans designed their own bill, leveraged democrat priorities to make them sign one of the most restrictive immigration bills in decades, and then burned it to the ground to score political points.

 

Immigrants even ones with legal status and green cards cannot vote in Federal elections nor can they even vote in state and local elections in almost every state and locality. The notion that migrants can vote is a false narrative that's been floated for decades although I guess it's not surprising that the same willfully ignorant Americans who worship a con artist with an orange complexion as if he were some sort of genius would believe it.

 

Plan, as in future course of action. Nobody said illegals can vote now. But, if you don't think that's part of the Dem "plan" if (God forbid) they ever get the WH, House and Senate again, you're in a serious state of denial.

Only because it was too soon, needed to get a few more million across to ensure future victories. Why else would the border crisis, which until recently the left denied existed, be allowed to persist? Compassion? Please!! We have legal processes and ports of entry. Use them!

 

Migrants are using the legal process. The legal process is that, regardless of how somebody enters, they are allowed to apply for asylum. Upon doing so, they are legally in the country until their hearing on the claim. That is the legal process.

So your supposition is that they need more migrants here now to make it legal for migrants to vote and make it worth it?

 

Keeping in mind this is the person who coined the term "alternative facts" as a defense of a certain politician with a very long history including the immediate past of using them virtually every time he speaks.
