4 migrants robbed and strangled a man on the Pink Line, Chicago police say - CWB Chicago

CHICAGO — Four men who live at a migrant shelter in downtown Chicago have been charged with robbing and strangling a passenger on the Pink Line, officials say.

The foursome attacked and robbed the 48-year-old man while riding a train near the Kostner station around 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, a CPD news release said. Chicago cops swooped in and arrested the suspects about 45 minutes later at the Pulaski station.

Poor Chicago now having to deal with even more crime from illegal thugs attacking their citizens and yet many on the left falsely claim they just want a better life and are hard working.
Lol, these thugs never intended to a traditional job, they just brought their bad habits to America

Yet another unintended consequence of the Democrat Voter Registration Drive taking place at our southern border.

yep. Trump and maga killed the border bill that would have helped.

Murphy says GOP voted against border bill to keep border ‘chaotic,’ help Trump campaign

By any honest reckoning, this is the most restrictive migrant legislation in decades. Previous immigration talks have involved trading security measures for legalizing more immigration. There is little of the latter in this bill—nothing for nearly all of the Dreamers who were brought here illegally as children, no general pathway to citizenship or green cards for most illegal immigrants already in the U.S. “

I just don’t understand. For the last 4 years Dems and liberal posters have said there is NO crisis at the border. What has changed in last few months to make it such a big priority for the dems?

Apparently, they started looking at polls and the status of their beloved sanctuary cities.

I just don't understand. For 4 years Republicans and big government "conservative" posters have said there is a crisis at the border. What has changed in the last few months that made it not a priority at all and made them turn down mostly their own ideas as to how to stop it?

Every time you post stuff like this now it only serves to reinforce how much your own party has failed you. They sandbagged their own restrictive immigration bill for political points. The southern border is now fully on republicans. They could have “fixed” it and instead succumbed to pressure from within their own party to let the border stay the same. But oh yeah it’s all the dems fault…

The same bill allowing 5k across a day? Same bill giving Biden full authority to cancel or change it? Same bill with funding for Israel and Ukraine just tacked on?
Yeah.. I’m not upset it was killed. Do I think republicans are any better or worse than Dems. Nope. They are all one big happy family looking for control of the citizenship. Both are hypocritical slime crooks.

Bill didn't do that. The bill stated that refugee seekers up to 4,000 per day, on average, could be allowed to enter and apply for asylum (which is consistent with our laws). From an average of 4,000 to 5,000 per day, the President would have discretion as to whether to stop asylum claims or not. At 5,000, he would no longer have that discretion. Why did you feel the need to falsely say what the bill, negotiated by 2 border hawks that believe in an enforcement based appriach, did?

because most republicans are at best misinformed if not willful liars when it comes to stuff like this. The excuse that it wasn’t restrictive enough does not hold water because until trump opened his fat face the republicans were supportive of the bill and complaining about dems holding it up. It’s amazing how fast the narrative changed to accommodate the cognitive dissonance.

Bill allowed up to 5k a day (averaged over a week). Bill allowed Biden to negate that number or change the number after 4k(I don’t add that part in.. my fault.
Bill have money tomisrael(not a border issue) and Ukraine (not a border issue). Why don’t you mention that in your rebuttal.
4-5k a day with only 1.1k being processed in a day is far too many.

    False.

That is nonsensical. What does "negate that number" even mean?

Because it has nothing to do with my rebuttal. The reason that the bill contained those things is because Republicans refused to pass aid to those places without spending on the border. So they wrote that bill, now they are using the nonsensical nature of their own demands to try to explain their lack of support...for the bill they wanted.
The bill contained money to hire more judges to process claims. If your concern was the rate of processing, probably should be supporting that bill, as it would up the processing rate.

Any group of 11 million will have their share if bad apples. But what do you think violent crime numbers in Chicago showed in 2023? Well, murders and gun shooting incidents were down, by a decent margin. Even as more and more immigrants arrived!

And ever wonder why, with about 11 million undocumented, we only get a thread like this about one every two to three weeks, despite there being assaults and murders daily? That's because several studies show violent crime rates among immigrants are lower than among citizens. Again, not zero, but not as high as the Rs would have you believe.

I will give Republicans credit on this: they likely knew that their own ideas wouldn't work to make their own voters feel better about immigration (the goal of that bill) and were smart enough not to try them and have them proven to have failed.

Good try but polls show overwhelming majority see throw your ideological subterfuge. You don’t get to blow up the border. Lie and lie for years calling it a ‘manufactured crisis’ and then double down on that lie and trot out cabinet members to chant ‘border is secure’. Then only when the press has to cover it because it’s overwhelming your self proclaimed sanctuary cities put together a garbage bill and claim you’re the party of secure borders. Horse left the barn long ago that one. Especially considering all your party had to do and could still do today, for the cost of an 8 cent pice of paper, is reinstate stay in Mexico policy for the bogus and coached so called asylum seekers. But hey. Good luck selling that. Even your own constituency is calling your bs.

rule of thumb - if your county has ports where it docs cruise ships with 6000 Americans each, your citizens cannot claim asylum in the US.

2nd rule. You cannot pass through a county where millions of Americans vacation every year and not request asylum there for the sole purpose of requesting asylum in the US.
