That was the only somewhat distressing aspect of the game: how Tchewa on offense was both overpowering and outmaneuvering several of our bigs in the post. So glad Georgia didn't try to do that more with the way he was playing. The double teams we started using on occasion were definitely needed.
Mike White is a nervous wreck on the sidelines that tries to appear calm. Terrible X & O's coach, IMO. Meanwhile, TG is calm on the sidelines and is getting better as a game coach. Leaving two true freshmen bigs on the floor late in the game and trusting them was ballsy.
But this is the problem, “… at the time of the post”. Too much heat of the moment streams of consciousness going on. We can’t always extrapolate meaning about a player, team, or coach after a loss or two. Sometimes, you just got beat. Sometimes, you didn’t play your best or coach your best. It doesn’t necessarily mean there is a pattern or underlying cause.
It wasn't a knock on TG. Spurrier Meyer Billy Sully I dont believe 2 years are enough to put someone on the hotseat, or in our hall of fame. Maybe my wording wasn't the best.
I'm ok with him posting that, at that time, with that caveat. 0-6 Q1 was being held against us in every utterance by every talking head. I took it as @akaGatorhoops was concerned, but still patient. Reasonable.
Handles got called for one standing with his hands straight up. Half of Uga would have fouled out if called evenly and thankfully he didn’t tend to his hair on camera I wasn’t enamored with CYG hire but was hopeful. He seemed to be MW Part 2. Things aren’t always as they seem. as I posted previously, we typically hire a young, inexperienced BB coach
Those two give it 110%, definitely can shoot as we saw tonight. Condo’s turnaround hook over Tchewa was something he has been working on with the coaches. His three strike late in the game probably blew the coaches minds on both teams. Haugh’s three 3 pointers had the commentators on the SEC station gushing. Patrick Young was stunned. PS: Condo played the same without any pressure being a rival, just full on war. Both young men make me feel great that they are Gators! Thanks CTG for finding these great players and showing recruits you want your name in lights, well Gainseville is an hotspot for top talent.
Meh. There was context behind it. We had Zyon suspended, Micah injured. Some close losses that just slipped away.
Saw TGs interview on SECN right after the game, but haven’t been able to find link to his formal press conference. Did he have one?
Such a typical MW presser. Complimentary towards us, but it’s all the kids’ fault, barely mentions the 10 minute offensive drought until directly asked, and blind confidence in his plan.
