The SEC always just changes the format just when our schedule would get easier. Never fails.

I know this is sarcastic but rotating every team every other year insures more even scheduling. UGA won’t have Birmingham protecting their schedule anymore!

They should book Oklahoma and Texas in Gainesville, while we are everybody’s schedule filler.

Agree. And it’s not like UGA has a soft schedule next season, BUT …they won’t face Texas, LSU, Ole Miss and FSU in succession either.

This might be the first time I’ve ever heard of a D-lineman blame DBs affecting his stat line because *checking notes again* they didn’t cover long enough.

Our DB's did suck though. Or the scheme sucked.

No one would argue that. However, DL apply pressure to QBs to make bad throws. When you hear of a coverage sack it’s a big deal because it’s the exception to the rule. Primadonna Umanmielen expressing frustration that the exception should be the rule, he should learn to shut up and find some work ethic.

Florida was a team last year that needed a leader on its defensive line, Florida unfortunately did not have one. Umanmielan has the talent to be that kind of player, he however is not a leader in as far as what makes him tick inside. He's just not the kind of player that makes everyone around better, his kind of talent needs a leader to feed off of. Wishing him all the best at Old Miss next season, Florida at this point is better off not having him on the team next season.....I for one am ready for next man up!

The reply was so true though. He could have flipped the coin and said if he had better lane integrity, other teams wouldn't have run all over us, putting pressure on our db and giving up quick pass plays, resulting in him getting less sacks than he thought he should have.

If not for the 12-2 record last year, his over-all record prior to that is kinda blah.......Has a work history of going to practice and booster meetings intoxicated that eventually got him fired, failed miserbly as a pro at Atlanta and was eventually fired there and then got his salary doubled just for having a blip on the radar at this point 12-2 season and is about to start playing games ib the SEC....seems like money well spent.....

I totally agree with this... As the front line of defense goes the D-line has the awesome responsibility to make everyone behind them better by getting quick pressure to the QB and maintaining GAP INTEGRITY so the LBs (half the time) and the DBs can focus on the passes. The LBs clean up the runners (which has been a weak part of our defense) but also have to protect against the short passes to the TEs.

The DB/Safeties are the last line of defense, but it was the schemes that let receivers run free especially when we line up 10 yards away from the receivers on short yardage. We need better schemes (man-press) more often and we need better ways to extricate or D-lineman from being HELD by cheating O-lineman.

    They all play their part
on the defense, but one thing rings true... players cannot take plays off like some have said Princely has done in the past. That messes up the rest of the defense and the scheme in which they play... as ONE UNIT. You're only as strong as your weakest link, and we had too many weak links last year in our schemes... duties there in.

The players on the best defenses want to kill everyone on the opposing offense.

    All the time.

Wonder if we negotiated for more money giving espn the extra conference game should net us more coin. We should be getting more than the Big 10. Sankey didn’t negotiate as the ultimate power conference.

I agree... And some schemes are better than others, and some position coaches are better than others at teaching that.
