Yeah . . . this seems to have been discussed a lot more with the way the play-offs ended this year. I'm not surprised but admit I don't watch the NFL.
And only the biggest odds makers are in on who is going to win games? Or is the new mob controlling the NFL are the true odds makers. More reason for me to simply ignore the NFL... nothing will change that.
I remember watching the Gators play Auburn at home and seeing how many time Bo Nix threw the ball into the dirt and never once got called for grounding. Then later in the same game we clearly got a first down and it was called as such on the field, but then Gus Malzahn called for a replay on the first down (we got it by a half a yard in my opinion) and they reversed the first down in favor of Auburn. Yeah, when we play Auburn the refs always seem to cheat on at least one VERY OBVIOUS way... and several times a game on the ball spots. The ball spots are another way the refs cheat teams like the Gators.
A friend of mine once worked in a sports physical therapy office in Atlanta. Jamal Anderson, the Falcons running back was their patient. She told me about what he wrote down as his profession on his medical forms. Profession: Entertainer.
Every game I watch there are multiple questionable spots. In this day and age, there is no good reason why we should still be depending on referees to make rough guesses on the spot. This problem could be easily solved with technology, but then one of the easiest ways to cheat would be eliminated.
As long as people acknowledge a difference in scripted vs fixed/influences I'll agree. If not I'll just sit back and enjoy the spectacle....
