What has happened to RK? Was really hoping he would find his confidence again as we head towards Tourny time. If we could get him going, we could be a threat to anybody. Certainly, his minutes are down because of the great play of Clayton and Pullen, but he just doesn’t seem to contribute much when he’s in these days. Can he get it back? Your thoughts?
I don't think he's playing as bad as people think. His defense on the season has been stellar. He's hit some huge threes the last few games. Is he playing like last year? No. He also doesn't need to this year.
I think he is playing worse than people think. His defense was awful tonight. He can’t finish and is a turnover machine. Golden made the right call benching him in the second half. Kugel is not reliable
He has been playing much better offensively of late. His defense has continued to be solid. The fact that we have four guards who can put up points this year rather than that two we has last year is an unquestionable positive, so I’m not too concerned about which of those four are scoring
Here we go again. smh. Nothing "happened". Riley isn't a finished product yet and he will have some great games and some no so great games. This is what we should expect from him as he matures and improves.
Lol..Riley is fine. We just have such a deep team that even Haugh can have himself a game. Lets just enjoy that.
Guess we gotta complain about something. RK is a “ hot button topic”. Disregarding the NBA talk, he’s playing like most developing sophomores….inconsistently. In the pre-crazy days of CBB, we’d have called it developing, and wouldn’t expect him to do as much game-to-game.
Pretty sure he’s leading the team in 3pt % during SEC play. I think they said that during todays game. of course there is more to the game, but we’re not asking much of him anymore offensively so I’m cool with his current role and minutes. 19 minutes today is fine. He’ll have some big games down the stretch and Golden will keep him longer those games.
THIS….Let that sink in….our 7th guy in the rotation was a go-to guy today. Who saw that coming. He was great today!
He is doing what we need him to do to contribute key minutes and force defenses to guard him. He is a true Gator and loves the school and the program. We are fortunate to have him.
Riley has so much potential and actually I believe it can be an easy fix for him to be an all-conference player. What drives us all crazy is the lazy pass that is picked off or too much showmanship when he goes to the rim and then throws up a crazy shot or takes an ill-advised shot. He comes off as the player that cares more about a highlight or how he looks then a hard-nosed type that just gets after it. If he makes that mental adjustment, he could be a superstar.
42% in league play (yet Richard is at 27%)! His effective fg% is third on the team in league play, too. What's strange is that he seems to shoot much better in isolation than in catch and shoot or ball screen situations. That's how we tore it up at the end of last season, too.
Perhaps, but this might be unnecessarily critical. Riley has struggle two main ways this year. 1) finding his shot 2) finding his place on the current team. Time and time again I've seen college hoops players in a soph slump. Another part of the prob is that we're comparing him to veteran players in Pullin and Clayton. Riley just hasn't found his way yet this year, but he's still the most dynamic athlete on the team and is capable of breaking out any time as he did against Auburn. If he sticks around for a junior season, I bet he breaks back into form.
Kugel is the hot button issue in this team, but Richard's shooting inconsistencies hardly draw a word in NBN. Im not suggesting we start harping on Will, I'm just pointing out that the criticism isn't always handed out justly. Maybe.
He did have 6 rebounds, but he’s taken 2 steps back after looking like he’d turned a corner in terms of his decision making on the court I’m in the camp that says we need him to contribute if we’re gonna realize our potential this year- which is Sweet 16 IMO, and I still think he can figure this out
I was touting Riley when he was still in high school as the next great star for UF. Now, I cringe whenever he touches the ball.
He shoots better of the dribble. Notice when the ball comes to him he has to take at least one dribble before he shoots it
