The EVs were in the stone age until Elon Musk saw a need what to gather up the best a brightest people to make better EVs... then he said he was going to give away the technology. Big mistake if he did.. I don't recall how that part went down.

Different time... different people... different war... virtually non- analogical to the Revolutionary War.

    Different time. No kidding.

Non-analogical? Not really. They are ultimately fighting for the same thing. The revolutionary war was a fight to obtain sovereignty from British rule. Ukraine actually already had its independence. Check a map. Russia and Ukraine are two separate countries. The fight is to preserve their existence separate and apart from Russia.

OT - but all things Elon..

Ecoterrorists burn down power line feeding his gigafactory. to be shut down for undetermined time while tower is rebuilt.

Elon Musk’s German Tesla plant suffers close to $1 billion in damages after attack by the ‘dumbest eco-terrorists on Earth’ (msn.com)

Arsonists calling themselves the Volcano Group left Tesla’s German factory without electricity on Tuesday, leading to damages the company claims could approach $1 billion.

More than 60,000 residents in Brandenburg and even parts of Berlin were also affected when a single high-voltage power mast near Tesla’s factory in Grünheide was set ablaze, raising broader questions over how to protect defenseless infrastructure critical to the economy from vandals, saboteurs and criminals.

"The complete destruction of the Gigafactory and the lopping off of technofascists like 'Elend' Musk are a step on the path towards liberation from the patriarchy," the group said in a statement sent to media, using a wordplay for Musk's first name that in German means "misery".

The plant's senior director Andre Thierig estimated the economic loss to Tesla from the production stop and subsequent ramp-up in the “high hundreds of millions” of euros as some 1,000 vehicles each day cannot be built.

Watch, Elon is going to pay for Trump's civil judgments at least in part.

Viktor Orban is visiting Maralago soon, also. Easy trade of a briefcase full of cash for some of the remaining classified docs still locked up in the unsearched closet.

Texas giving Musk 49 acres of beachfront property from a state preserve so he can blow it to hell and nobody can see it...smdh..in exchange for 477 aces 10 miles inland..

Texas unanimously approves handing Elon Musk Boca Chica State Park land (msn.com)

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission voted unanimously in favor Monday of a proposal for the department’s staff to pursue a land swap in South Texas with Elon Musk’s SpaceX. The move comes after sharp criticism from locals, who have called out the explosions and scattered debris brought by Starship launches and described the land swap as “another wave of colonization.”

Monday’s vote triggers the proposed swap to be delegated to the executive director of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Before the deal is completed, a few other steps need to be taken, including an approval process from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and research on the real estate transaction.

The deal would involve the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) giving 43 acres of Boca Chica State Park to SpaceX in exchange for 477 acres near the Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge, about 10 miles away. The current owner of the land SpaceX is offering is currently owned by Bahia Grande Holdings, property records indicate. SpaceX would assign the purchase and sale contract to the department or transfer that property directly to TPWD at closing.

Hours of public testimony took place before the vote, with many South Texas residents pleading with the commission to vote “no” on the proposal or delay the vote and hold a meeting closer to the Rio Grande Valley to allow more in the community to comment. Monday’s meeting took place in Austin, more than 300 miles away from where Texans living closest to the land at stake live.

So Elon is suing Open AI and Microsoft because he said Open AI strayed from its mission as a solely non profit org.

Butttttt….. Open AI has the receipts! Turns out musk said exactly the opposite in emails and indeed said their only way to stay is business was to raise oodles of cash, which he was happy to provide if they merged with Tesla (he was an early investor) Open AI politely told him to jump in a lake and he walked away tail between legs. 5 years later they decided he was right but they needed oodles of computing power so sensibly the decided to partner with Microsoft to the tune of $13B (greatest big investment in history)?

    Today they released the emails.

There goes the lawsuit. Womp womp

It is kind of funny how often Musk is now providing schools with training exercises on what not to do. The series of ridiculous decisions that he made in purchasing Twitter, the series of ridiculous pricing decisions and mismanagement of a social media platform, the absurd branding decisions, and, now, the series of laughable lawsuits just asking to get tossed. Never has a person needed to hire a person with the sole responsibility of telling themselves "No" more than him right now.

No. But Elon bought Twitter because he claimed he wanted to make it a bastion of free speech because viewpoints were being silenced. So we're allowed to mock him when he does stuff like this.

Couldn't read the article but deal seems to indicate a business arrangement. Doesn't sound like he was deplatformed from x.

So a private business deciding that they don't want to host you violates your free speech, but only if they aren't paying you?

Yikes. Maybe someone needs to fire themself? Probably good news for consumers… maybe more price cuts?

Tesla sales plunge far more than expected

    New YorkCNN —
Tesla posted its first annual drop in sales since the first year of the pandemic, as increased electric vehicle competition from Chinese and Western automakers ate into demand.

CEO Elon Musk’s electric car company reported it built 433,000 vehicles but delivered only 387,000. That’s down from the 484,507 cars it delivered in the final three months of 2023, and it’s also down from the 422,875 vehicle sales in the first quarter of last year.

Tesla has responded to increased competition by cutting prices. Although Tesla is more profitable than traditional automakers, the price cuts have been squeezing the profit margins that helped boost the stock. Investors’ expectations that the company would grow sales in the future had also been supporting Tesla’s lofty stock price, which made it the world’s most valuable automaker.

Shares of Tesla fell 5% Monday and have lost more than a third of their value this year.
