    Navalny, long a critic of Putin survived previous assassination attempts. Died today in prison after “a stroll” in extremely frigid weather in his Siberian prison. A very brave man.

    One of Russian President Vladimir Putin's most high-profile critics, Alexei Navalny, died in a maximum-security prison, the country's state media reportedFriday, citing the prison service where he was being held.

    Navalny had been a thorn in Putin's side for more than a decade, leading multiple investigations into the wealth of Russia's leader and his inner circle. Navalny attempted to run for president in 2018, but was was barred from that vote. Two years later, he was poisoned by a nerve agent while on a trip in Siberia. After he was treated in Germany he returned home to continue his work. Instead, he was immediately arrested.

    Brave man to publicly oppose someone like Putin, knowing full well what the consequences would probably be. Rest in peace.

    Navalny worked for the CIA. He was a traitor to his country. The CIA controlled media has brainwashed all of you guys. Putin has high popularity in Russia, In Russia Navalny was barely more popular than Chris Christie.

    Another way to say it is, they like the idea of a dictator, just like their orange wanna-dictator leader does. So how do they and their leader probably view Navalny? Either with indifference or Schadenfreude.

    Wait, so democracy is destroyed in Russia now and Putin doesn't have the legitimacy provided by democracy? This admission moves you firmly back to small potato.
