Buckeyes are not F’ing around. Lots of money being spent to win.

Easier to be higher profile and get an NFL job at OSU. Plus better travel and less responsibilities. Crazy times in CFB.

Seriously? He didn’t want to come here as a head coach, why would he want to come as a coordinator. We are not a big boy program at the moment.

Makes no sense to me. If the guy wanted out of college so badly o take the demotion to an OC in the pros, why would he take a job at OSU?! He is still in college and still has to recruit and still has to deal with NIL, etc. Why not stay at UCLA where the stress and expectations are not very high AND live in a city with great weather. This one makes no sense.

Doesn’t really matter if it makes sense to you. I’m sure it makes perfect sense to Chip Kelly.

Makes perfect sense, he's going to call plays and run the O, this frees Day up to be the CEO, the guy running the money handlers and the like.

He just wants to call ball plays now, and not deal with all the headaches & BS a HC in college ball has to navigate through now. Plus he has more $$$$ than he’ll ever need or spend.

This explains it much better than I, with a UF reference.

Chip Kelly just wants to coach ball, but his exit from UCLA is concerning amid college football's hazy future

Kelly also looking at the changing landscape and how that may impact UCLA. They weren't exactly a powerhouse to begin with. The bruins will be a middle of the road program in the expanded BIG/pac.

This is odd on so many levels outside of the HC to OC move. Ohio State has recruited pro-style QBs whereas Kelly prefers duel threats. Kelly is the OC but Hartline keeps his co-OC / passing coordinator title. Kelly is an odd individual so the dynamic between coaches will be interesting to watch. Kelly’s shine has certainly worn off after his mediocre stint at UCLA.

Foster has only been an assistant coach since 2016 and was just a RB coach the entire time. Interesting hire.

Great hire bringing him back. Developed some good OLines under Spurrier. He’s also going to coach the tackles and will be the run game coordinator.

Like some of the other college head coaches, he’s tired of the portal and having to deal with all the changes in CFB.
