They are two people who are mostly disliked within their own party, but every dem wishes all republicans were more like Romney, and every republican wishes all Dems were more like Machin…

    Can’t see them winning, though…

BTW, I don’t think it’s as easy to get on ballots as some of these people throwing out 3rd party runs might think…. I heard that RFK is thinking of joining a party, like the libertarians or something, because he can’t get all signatures he needs….

Manchin will be 77 in August. Romney will be 77 next month. This is a stupid idea

Is it this Congress, or the 2025 Congress? Maybe there is a chance of flipping it ….

I’d prefer them to the alternatives but I suspect they would pull more from Biden support than Trump. The country is mostly divided between those that like Trump and those that dislike Trump.

I would definitely vote for Romney if he headed the ticket and actually had a chance of being elected. I don't know whether it's his genes or his Mormon lifestyle both physically and cognitively Mitt presents like a man 10 years younger than his actual chronological age. That being said a vote for third party candidate is a wasted vote. The last time a third-party candidate was elected was Lincoln in 1860 and that was because the Whigs, the other major party prior to 1860 essentially dissolved following the 1856 election and the Democrats split into Northern and Southern wings with each running a different candidate for the presidency.

Seems like 2 old failed retreads. No thanks.
I'd be ok with Romney, but a hard pass on the old coal baron Manchin who couldn't even get reelected in his home state at this point.

A vote for a third party might be a wasted vote, but maybe not.
    1. A good argument can be made that a vote for one of the two majors parties is also a wasted vote. Has any single person ever tipped an election? In many states, the outcome of the electoral votes is known a year in advance.
    2. Just because something hasn’t happened in a long time doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Eventually a third party will breakthrough. Nothing lasts forever.
    3. Even if it was certain a third party candidate wouldn’t win, a vote for him/her still might not be wasted if we view the purpose of voting through a different lens. Instead of trying to elect someone in particular, a vote can be seen as a moral action. Refusing to help perform an evil act only to be harmed by the evildoers before they perform the act anyway is viewed by many as the right action, despite it not changing any results.
I realize these arguments sound ridiculous in today’s political environment, but it might be that it’s today’s political environment that’s wrong.

Wouldn’t think it would pull many votes from the Dems who are intent on protecting women’s rights.
