Trump blames Haley for Jan. 6

I don't find fault with how you feel re Trump's policies and the perception that they are dangerous for the US. However, making that representation is a far cry from the infantile name calling and beyond ridiculous comments made by those who have an unhealthy obsession with the man. Examples of such can be found in this thread and many others on Too Woke.

BTW, one of the more interesting claims about Trump is that he is the antichrist. That is simply ridiculous ..... as we all know if he was the antichrist, he would not have lost the 2020 election and there would have been no "Jan 6th insurrection".

 

Since we now know from this thread that: (i) we should not listen to what Trump says, because he never means what he says, and (ii) Trump has told us that his platform is the best, my only conclusion is that Trump supporters imagine what they want their leader to say and do, and magically morph their own vision and concepts onto Trump. Trump is, literally, who they want him to be.

 

Here’s my question, given that you fault the “infantile name calling” directed to Trump: What are your thoughts about Trump’s infantile name calling of every single person who disagrees with him? Is his third-grade bullying ok? But it’s not ok to treat him as he treats others?

 

I think Trump’s attacks of others to also be infantile. My question is ….. why would an ostensibly intelligent person active on TWFSG want to act like Trump?

 

I agree. Why would anyone want to act like Trump? Why would anyone think of voting for someone whose behavior is so foul that they condemn others who act in a similar way?

Trump is supposed to be a leader, a person whose ideals and behavior we should emulate. Right?

 

I think the "antichrist" mantra is really just a spoof on those that say God put him here to be our president. I don't think there is an unhealthy obsession, I wouldn't even use the word obsession, unless you mean an obsession with keeping us a republic.

Re the antichrist thing, what I saw on another, extremely popular social media site was not a spoof. The comments I read were quite serious much like some of the TDS stuff posted on this site.

If poster is placing significant credence in social media sites on which to base anything more than passing entertainment, therein could lie a serious problem.

 

Well, based upon your own assertion, there are quite a few folks on Too Woke who have this “serious problem” ……..

 

Looks like Trump needs another cognitive test, but maybe this one they can make a little more difficult instead of successfully identifying an elephant.

Trump claims he deliberately confused Nikki Haley and Nancy Pelosi

Donald Trump has tried to claim that he intentionally confused Nikki Haley and Nancy Pelosi during a rally address last month when he falsely stated that his rival for the Republican presidential nomination had been in charge of Capitol security in Washington, DC, on 6 January 2021, rather than the then-House speaker.

The former president made the original blunder in New Hampshire on 19 January ahead of that state’s GOP primary – which he nevertheless went on to win – wrongly telling the crowd during an anecdote about the Capitol riot: “Nikki Haley is in charge of security. We offered her 10,000 people, soldiers, National Guard, whatever they want. They turned it down.”

The gaffe came a day after Mr Trump had confused Joe Biden with Barack Obama and prompted Ms Haley, whom he has nicknamed “Birdbrain”, to question his mental wellbeing, given that she was not even in DC that day, let alone responsible for its policing.

The mistake also provided an ironic counterpoint to the candidate’s repeated attacks on President Biden, whom he has derided as too old to run for the White House again at 81, even though Mr Trump himself is only four years younger.
