Granted its about four days later, but I hate seeing people get "Disagree Bacons" and you got several for raising this issue.

What I saw is her slide into second base, get up, and appear to be "uncomfortable," and try to shake it off and get right for several pitches. It was concerning enough to me that I looked over at CTW for his reaction, but he wasn't looking at her. She then got pulled in the game, as you say.

Between games, she came out into left field alone, with the trainer, and did some walking, with exaggerated range of motion with her right leg, putting it way out into an arc. While Skyler and the trainer were doing this, CTW came over and they all spoke. Skyler continued the range of motion drill -- no other players were on the field, just her, CTW, and the trainer. CTW watched while she finished the drill.

Granted it appears that everything turned out okay -- thank goodness. But I think you were spot on to be concerned at the time, especially impressive since you were just listening to the game on the radio. I was there and was gravely concerned, until she later played and it appeared everything was fine.

Sandman, Scrappy and 3 others were sitting with me right next to the dugout when Skylar came in. She and CTW talked for 20 seconds, Skylar smiled and nodded her head in agreement. My guess only was that we were killing them anyway, and he wanted to get Mia a chance at SS and hopefully get het bat going. She fields well but I am afraid she is hitting herself right out of the line up. She certainly is not taking Regan out of her spot the way she has hit and is hitting. Maybe she can supplant Deuce as she still is a very weak hitter. My guess is she is pressing to be the "next" Skylar rather than being the first Mia.

Agreed. I think Mia is going to be fine in the long run. Just pressing right now.

Its OK. Scrappy was simply confused about what I was saying and the timing of what happened. He was at the game and the next day the whole thing was out of context for him. He apologized here when he figured it out and we had a private moment. Scrappy and I are fine. No problem. Up until your post, I thought the whole thing pulling Skylar so early was simply a strategic move to get Mia time at short. That it was so early in the game was what got me concerned. Also I couldn't see what was going on with no tv. The more I thought about it a couple days later I thought possibly Tim was figuring it would end up being only a five inning run rule game and he wanted to make the move early. Now, with your detailed post regarding she was in fact possibly gimpy makes me wonder. No matter. The entire episode is getting more attention than it deserves.

Jocey is hitting .360. Is third in hits and second in rbis. The only thing she hasn't done yet is hit with consistent power and I have no doubt that will come.

Gators give up one earned run to Jax last night and the team ERA goes up. I'm impressed.

The thing I liked best about Keagan, other than 9 strike outs, was she did it different than Sunday. On Sunday her best pitch was an off-speed drop curve or change (not sure what she calls it). Last night that didn't seem to be working as well so she went to a rise ball and they couldn't touch it. She has multiple pitches at multiple speeds. Way ahead of most freshmen.

After listening to the JU broadcasts then watching them on YouTube after the fact, I was surprised at how bad JU is. At least the girls got in practice for what’s coming up. Jmo as always

I am aware this so far off topic....Caitlin Clark is not a normal human being. When the pressure is the greatest. When the spotlight the brightest. She shines. She needed 8 points tonight to become the all time NCAA women's scoring leader. She did it in the first three minutes with her signature logo three. But, that's not all. First quarter...23 points and four assists. The best ever. (28 points at the half....but 8 assists and 4 boards. A consummate player.) (And, yes, spare me. I'm a huge fan. Have watched every game she has played the past two years.)

One more and I'll stop. But for those that haven't followed her...sheer greatness. 49 points, 13 assists, 5 boards tonight. She is the all-time NCAA women's scoring leader. She needs 97 points to pass Pete Maravich for the all-time collegiate scoring leader which she will likely get in the next 3-4 games. She will likely end up 3rd in all-time assists. She has 13 40+ games. She has 53 30+ games. She has 77 double-doubles. And she could take a fifth year if she wants it instead of going to the WNBA. Probably will leave but she is making well over $1 million per year now at Iowa.

Ok, I lied. One more....the record just had to be a logo three....nobody shoots like her:

sad. My brother’s wife and my wife’s best friend both succumbed to brain tumors in the last few months. It’s very hard on everyone

I've lost 2 friends I've known since 1975, plus the closest friend I've had in the last 12 years or so (besides my wife) to cancer. All in the last 8 months. 1 was 74, another 72, the other 63. The older we get the more people we lose. Gettin' old ain't for sissies.

I am so happy for Mia, the freshman jitters at the plate may be finally gone for her. She had two hits tonight, with a single and one RBI in the first game; and with a single and two RBIs in the second game.

Jocey was 4-5 with 8 RBIs tonight and raising her batting average to .433. She is off to a great start.
