3-6 vs ranked teams should get us to 6 wins

How far have we fallen when 3-6 against teams with a pulse is continued successful?

6 wins imho will get him retained for 2 major reasons, first - tough schedule. Second, huge buyout. Another losing season all bets are off.

 

I believe we are going to surprise a lot of people. We are way more talented than we were the start of last season. He has almost flipped the entire roster. Our schedule is always tough. Go Gators

 

Two thoughts. Vegas is damn good. There is a reason they make billions. Having said that, this bet is pretty early so variability is high, but I’d say they nailed it given what we know today.

Second, BN is in year 3 at UF. He has to beat the teams we should beat (looking at Arkansas/Mizzou last year) and start beating some teams we are predicted to lose to. Not asking too much to start 5-0 (UM, Samford, UCF, Texas a&m and UCF). 4-1 is solid. Uk should be a win. UT, LSU and FSU are toss ups but winnable for the gators. I see texas, UGA and ole miss as games we are out gunned.

It is pointless at best, destructive at worst, to opine what BN has to do for his job. We should all root for him and the team this year. And in my opinion the Gators in the abstract, and this team in particular, should pull 6 or 7 wins out of this schedule. Eight wins is good work and 5 is not in my opinion.

 

Say it again 7 wins at worse. Besides Geo don't see any team that is any better.
We have top QB coming back. Speed at WR ,good RBs and should have a better OL.
We Got a good safety and couple CBs from Portol. A good LB and a couple Dl men.
See 5-7 starters from portol.
I say 8-4 maybe 9 wins.
Tenn, FSU, Miami , Geo could be losses but one upset will get us to 9 wins. Don't see any other team but those 4 that could be losses

 

UF is not even close to being a ranked team is why this schedule is so daunting, imho. That’s just so hard to believe, in year 3.

 

Non-playoff bowl games shouldn't even be counted in a team's won-loss record for the reasons you mentioned. They're merely exhibition games for those who feel like playing that day. Kinda like a pick-up game in the park.

 

Why. What do you see that makes you think we will suck. We could have won 7 last year, yes we did not but a little bit of luck we would have.
Why do you think all these teams are better than us. Would not trade our recruiting class with most teams.
Who has a better QB coming back? Johnson is a solid RB and we have 2 very good freshman RBs, plus Webb.
Just would like to know your thoughts why you think we will be lucky to get to 5 wins.
Like to hear other people opinions on the Gators.

 

I think we have issues in the trenches on both sides of the LOS.

As the season winds down our lack of depth will catch up to us, which is why itis important to win early.

If we can win early and win bookends with some DJ thrown in, BN can change the narrative.

I think the lines will be better. Got a starter out of portol for DL and maybe 2 for OL.
Have some good young DL men coming back

5.5 is generous.

 

Agreed. 5.5 was the number last year, and despite a number of posters claiming Vegas has some huge anti-Gator bias (one of the dumbest things I've seen on this board) it turns out Vegas generally knows what they're doing. Given the schedule, 5.5 seems like a reasonable number again.

 

You might want to look at that schedule again.

 

That and perhaps our toughest schedule ever.

 

It's pathetic. 6-6 for a cumulative 17-20 over 3 years being successful at UF is a joke.

 

If we had an acc schedule, 8 wins would be realistic, maybe more. We won’t be given free victories like what has always happened in the past. We will have to be an average sec team to win five games more than likely. If we win 8, we are beating some good teams.
