yes… I get that. But he referred to an inability to set up our offense, which kinda implies half court offense. But yeah… he could have been referring to our defense undermining our ability to get into more transition, early clock possessions.
But if so… that doesn’t address the issue … the many times you need to play in the half court; and our struggles to do so against a zone.

Agree, we HAVE TO win at UGA. Take advantage of their recent slide. We barely hung on to beat them at home, have to bring some intensity and some poise to Athens

I agree with both. In the 1-3-1 the man up top and the man down low are constantly running back and forth. I also remember playing the bottom of the zone and would always fear backdoor cutters. Agree there are always soft spots in any zone, as it’s easier to focus on just your man than an area you have to cover, which at times can lead to overcompensating and bad decisions. Also would be easier when we don’t go 4 of 17 from 3s. If we were hitting our outside shots a zone is a hell of a lot easier to beat, but we were atrocious from deep last night.

It's not a "must win" game at all.

It’s a must win in that we’d hate to lose to Georgia

I wouldn’t say must win, but of the two Alabama games, Georgia game, and South Carolina game, I think we need to win two. And the Georgia game is probably the easiest of the four.

I know coaches like to hang on to their timeouts, especially in the 2nd half before the last few minutes, but I'd like to see us use one the moment we see a bit of relaxation on our part when we have a substantial lead. Call the guys to the bench and say, "Okay, this ain't happening. Here's what I want you to do."
The tendency I'm seeing is guys taking a couple of bad shots with a big lead, as if they're thinking, "What's the harm?" Then we let a couple of guards drive all the way to the hoop for easy layups.
Play smart, challenge every shot, move your feet on both ends of the court.

Some pros who never relaxed and put up bad/lazy shots were Michael Jordan and Larry Bird. They were winners. That's what I'd tell my guys. If I had guys...

I thought the poor shooting in the 2nd half was directly related to the lack of movement. I saw a lot of shots fading backwards after working hard to beat their man one on one that lead to tired shots in my opinion.

Coach: "Ok, team . . . now play like you are MJ or Bird!"
Team: "Uhh coach . . . we were born after those guys retired."

All of em are "must win" ..... obviously I kid, ...........but, the SEC is so tough. It's hard to not look at the schedule and
    plug in victories.

UF is a 2 game skid away from the bubble in all likelihood. But we must be pleased UF is currently 6 - 1 in the last 7.
    I know I am.

Lurker is correct, can't count chickens just yet. But this squad shows promise, they are young and certainly seem to be getting
    better despite lapses.

this. you're absolutely right. Coach even admitted in his postgame they haven't really made a focus of it in practice, but that we will on Thursday and Friday before Georgia. I wonder if we'll see a difference on Saturday

it's ironic that of those two the one that couldn't fly is named Bird
