I’ll take it. It’s a W. LSU shot 11-21 from 3. That’s ridiculous. And we were only 12-20 shooting free throws. They couldn’t miss 3’s and we couldn’t hit free throws.
Everytime someone plays us zone I think, "we're gonna see a lot more of that going forward" Maybe this is when the league just decides to zone us for 40.
Something has to change when the momentum is lost like that. The one possession where pullin had to force a shot to beat the clock that got stripped was particularly frustrating as nobody else was moving at all. Lsu had very active hands on defense as well. Their energy fed them at both ends. Our lack of movement at both ends did the same for us. Samuel losing his man over and over was frustrating. But they eaked it out so on to the next but it will be frustrating to lose a game playoff time by losing a lead given how talented this team is and that we lose pullin next year.
Florida (17-7, 7-4) has now won 6 games in the last seven! After that Kentucky loss, Florida also has won 5-straight home games!
He was pretty adamant about "thinking" he got hit despite the lack of replays. He got on my nerves about the third time he said it...
But there was none. Condon stopped in and got the east rebound and that was that. Anyway, scary but we survived and got the W.
Poor guy panicked because he couldn't believe how open he was. Left totally open under the basket. We definitely dodged a bullet. Crazy sequence. Maybe there was contact on the follow? But not sure there was time on the clock.
Ok I just rewatched it more closely. I’m pretty sure he is talking about the rebound. Wright gets two hands on the the ball after his miss, and Clayton comes up between his hands and knocks the ball up toward the rim. It’s clearly not a shot when watching the replay but could have easily seemed like a shot in real time. I don’t think there is any foul either, but at least there was a body near him on that one.
Well, that huge second half drought happened yet again, but at least unlike most of the others, we made some plays right at the end to win it. Golden needs to figure out how to get this offense to work against a zone. We have no clue over and over again when it happens. Do we have no coaching answers? A win is a win at this point though.
It was very pretty up to the point it was 60-40. After that not so much. Nice stat given by SECN: this is the first time we’ve been +10 games over .500 in 7 years. We are getting the W’s and that’s what counts. But man they need to figure out those zone defenses. Does coach not believe in calling timeouts to end a run? Maybe that’s a philosophical thing or something, but I believe he had two in the pocket when the game ended. Ive thought before he let things slide a bit too much without caling the TO to change things up.
