Kind of a cool story about crocodiles thriving at the Turkey Point power plant. I knew about manatees gathering in the warm water that comes out of the plants, but not this. Florida nuclear site home to American crocodiles and they're thriving
Not really a new story. This is from 1997. Scientists Rejoice, Floridians Recoil at Crocodile Rebirth
Nuclear crocodiles. Sounds like a disaster movie genre, ala Snakes on a plane. Expect Samuel Jackson to star. Also would be a good mascot for a sports team.
I hear manatee meat is actually delicious. I'd guess more like pork than chicken though, given the fat content, and that they're mammals. They only problem though, is that their reproduction rates are really slow, else I'd be all for manatee (sea) ranches. I suppose if you can control a herd and calculate how many manatees to eat while still growing the herd, it might be a feasible plan (though you'd also have to factor in for enviro-fascist animal rights terrorists...).
