I've been a Gator all my life. I just didn't know it will we moved from California to Florida... I was 10. SEC in Super Bowl LVIII
Funny how the people that say the refs are always favoring KC don't mention the short spots they gave on 2 separate drives. Not even a review in OT when it was clear from the TV replay that the chiefs got a first down. They converted on 4th but while I think star QBs generally get the benefit of calls, it's not some conspiratorial effort to make the chiefs win like so many claim.
My first car was a ‘75 VW Scirocco, so I was elated to see one behind the three girls on the showroom floor at about midway through the commercial. My first thought about that frame was, “I wish that redhead was in better focus” but then I noticed the Scirocco and immediately fell out of love for her and in love with my first car again.
Bad spot after bad spot against KC. Ticky tack defensive holding in OT to keep Niner drive alive. BS intentional grounding on Mahomes when the TE was close enough to say in the area. Not one ref call benefitted KC. If the game was rigged, it was for SF.
Both offenses got away with egregious holds that led to big plays but otherwise it went exactly as you said. Add to that the horse collar was shy of meeting horse collar criteria per the rules expert. Has to be a pulling downward to the ground action and there wasn't.
I never count the non-called holds because it can happen in every game and it is overplayed (for example that late Deebo end around had an obvious hold go uncalled). That horse collar was BS too. Forgot that one. In the end they couldn’t stop Mahomes and more importantly couldn’t stop Tito22 from getting his money.
Maybe I'm missing something but why did San Fran take the ball first in OT? Huge mistake. I can only guess they knew KCs defense was exhausted and thought it was the better play to put them on the field asap but they robbed themselves of a 4th down by doing so
They had a shot. Jennings won on his route. I know Brock is under pressure but he needs a better ball than that. As far as taking the ball first, if KC goes down and scores a TD, game over and Shanahan looks like a fool. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
I thought they did away with the game over if the receiving team scores a td first? The refs explicitly stated that both teams will get the ball barring a defensive score.
49ers players say they didn't know Super Bowl OT rules Just looked it up and found this? The 49ers didn't know the new rules??? Also explains Shanahans logic as he wanted to be the third possession of it got that far in order to end it then. I disagree under the new rules with his strategy
Yeah I heard that and thought he misspoke. I guess it’s the new rule but looking online doesn’t seem like everyone knows that (myself included)
Growing up in the 60's, we were a German air-cooled family........grateful to my father to this day for that! So yeah......that commercial really hit home! Maybe one day I will own one of those electric VW's....those things look cool.
How bout a shout out for Tommy Townsend. Solid punts all game and a great catch of a bad snap on the 57 yard FG! And you know he really wanted to fake one of those punts.
Sweet! I drove my aunts VW square back in HS. The Scirocco had an Audi inline four banger…mine was 1500cc and 72 horses. Loved it. Now back to your regularly scheduled thread. Oh look, is that Taylor Swift over there?
Unbelievable. Multi-million dollar compensated coaches...who don't know the freak'n rules of the game...
