The NFL wants the best matchups and the biggest markets to meet up. Sure they have vested interest in rooting for those things but that's a far cry from rigged. The best matchup would have been Detroit vs KC. Clear case of " good vs evil" for the casual fans.

Well if it’s “rigged” they failed miserably in the “biggest markets” component-SF (13th) and KC (31st) arent even in the top dozen MSA’s in the US, all of which have NFL teams. This whole “the NFL is rigged” is complete nonsense.

The NFL and the SB is not rigged. However, going into it the outcome that happened was as expected. If you want to call it fate or the gods intervening that's fine but the chefs were going to win that game even as poorly as they played. The 49ers had to come back to win both against Green Bay and Detroit to get to this position. The chefs beat both Buffalo and Baltimore more easily and should have won the SB by more. The outcome should come as no surprise. Even if the niners made that earlier extra point to make it a 4 point game, Mahomes would have just converted the 4th down for a TD and won in regulation anyway instead of going for the field goal to tie it.
Of course which is why I said it isn't. They have rooting interests but that's it. The NFL wants no part of a Carolina vs jacksonville superbowl lol but they can't control it if and when it happens.
