The headbutting with media and circling the wagon is giving McElwain 2017 vibes.

Chip Kelly just quit as head coach at UCLA to take the OC job at Ohio State.

This sort of crazy stuff is happening all over the country with coaches.

    Zero loyalty to anyone.

Thats right. UCLA was waiting for his buyout to go down to can Kelly despite wanting to fire him for a couple of years because of poverty (why they jumped at the BIG), so they had no loyalty to Kelly and he had no loyalty back.

Point taken, but 5 weeks is enough for CBN to have gotten a pretty good idea and feel for what S&C program ought to look like, and maybe enough of a template for a successor to follow.

    Just sayn...

Maybe they could talk Rich Tuten into coming out of retirement for one year. He sure got Pell's players Tutenized.

That's actually not too far off. The past couple of seasons have felt as if he was our S&C coach.

Weird that I happened to have met Rich Tuten and Richard Simmons and now both are mentioned on a Gator forum 25 to 30 years later....

I don’t think Richard Simmons would endorse max attempt squats like Princely was pictured doing.

I hope he at least informed the players himself and didn't just disappear.

True. That’s why we have contracts. Billy let this guy out of his contract, right or wrong. I don’t think I would’ve kept the guy out of his contract at this point in the season.

You're hiring a guy you know doesn't stay in any one place very long. Don't you at least consider some hefty buyout situation prior to say two-years? Even prior to finishing one complete freakin' year?! Boston College should need to pay UF millions, payable immediately, as punitive for the disruption that Fitzgerald's decision will cause. I mean, it's his call to go work for his buddy, but these adult decisions should be EXPENSIVE! Are they? I bet UF isn't getting paid for this breaking of contract (even if it is one). Just absolute headscratcher on this one. With all the turnover and hiring under Napier, you'd think we could write contracts that wouldn't leave us hanging during critical times... UNLESS UF gets paid millions. We shouldn't be hiring anyone that can't at minimum, make a grown-up commitment for one full cycle/year.
