If the S&C hire was key because the O-line (and others) did not perform capably because of poor conditioning, this is HUGE. Is Napier going to break the bank to steal a mercenary for a season or two?

And if the answer is "no" then I don't see the current coaches on the O-line (and perhaps the D) having what it takes to overcome some bad trends.

All I can say is.........DAMN!

Fitzgerald hasn’t been a model of commitment to any program, but this was really a gut punch.
Hope CBN can line up somebody who can help us in that important area quickly.

This^^^ Ga Tech back when he was a a grad assistant/RB coach/OC from 95-2002 was the last college gig he stayed more than 2 years at. Hell take out the patriots and Texans gig and he has never stayed longer than 2 seasons in 10 different stops, both college and NFL(not even including Ohio state OC for a week or so.) Wonder if he even unpacks his boxes when he moves.

 

Meh. Five weeks and he hasn't made any players quit yet. Girly man.

At this point it seems BN has to go with the S&C coach who was a bust. What a huge downer for the team.

 

This will be like the 4th time Fitzgerald has been O’Brien’s SC Coach.
