Well, Skylar was the only starter pulled. Seems a strange choice. I remain wondering until someone there says she is bouncing around like normal or until she starts the second game.
That was the following inning and does make sense both because she is a Freshman and more so because she is likely the game two starter.
That's your opinion. I disagree. I choose to believe all is good and Coach is just letting different players have a go at different positions and getting as many of them in the game as possible. Announcers have said abosolutely nothing about a problem with Skylar, so why specualte?
I'm just guessing and simply asking for anyone there to check her out and see if she is acting normal. The announcers are always clueless and wouldn't notice if she had a leg amputated.
Yep - What an awesome first start for Miller, who could become a very key part of this team as the season progresses. Gators don't want to have to rely on just 2 pitchers, no matter how good they are.
Assuming it doesn't change as the official lineup did in the first game, Skylar is in the lineup and Keagan is starting. And this worrying soul breathes a sigh of relief.
This girl has to be thrilled. Only the 5th perfect game in the history of Florida softball. Kelly Barnhill was the last to do it in 2018. Puts Olivia in pretty good company.
Yep - I started an official game thread. Mia Williams out of the lineup for this game. O-fer after 4 games.
I thought Georgina Corrick was just an excellent color commentator. She has a future in broadcasting. She doesn't fall to the typical ex-player color commentator disease where they think they have to say something stupid after every pitch. Entertaining, knowledgeable and great personality.
Yes. As it turns out. But he pulled her in the second inning after she ran the bases and it was only 5-0 at that point. That's not a normal way to handle it. Thus my concern it was more than just getting other players or other situations in the game. There are a myriad ways to do that without taking out your star player, barring injury, in the second inning. I'll let it rest, of course, but I will go to my grave not apologizing for asking someone at the game to check her out for us.
I don’t know about y’all, but my two favorite plays of the day were: 1. How the team celebrated with Olivia when it took a moment for her to grasp that she had pitched a perfect game and 2. How the team celebrated Baylee’s home run as she crossed the plate. The chemistry is building….
Are any of you concerned about Florida's easy schedule prior to SEC play. The next 13 games are played in the state of Florida against teams with hardly a pulse. They then go to California for five games and only two of them have winning records.
Possibly the biggest surprise of the opening weekend across the country was UCLA getting smoked in their own tournament. They won two against mediocre teams, lost a close one to Texas, and then got run ruled by both Texas and Okie State.
