I literally turn it off every time that dude comes on. Game day is dead to me (along with the rest of CFB if we are being honest, so I guess it goes hand in hand). He’s not a professional, over the top annoying. I don’t get it as far as Gameday goes. Seems like a horrible fit. Now the talk show is different, I don’t like the guy, but from what I’ve seen it’s no different from any other talking head or debate show (the Herd, Stephen A, whatever). Part of that schtick is to ham it up and play for the audience a bit. I don’t understand how these guys get “followings”, but apparently they do.
It plays off well to the kids and adults who act like they are still kids. It’s like WWE Orr whatever it’s called now. It’s more theatrics and entertainment than sports. The guy doesn’t irritate me as some other like Herd but still not interested in sensationalizing everything.
I’d rather have neither, so I do for the most part. The obsessions people have with these “influencer” types and other talking heads befuddles me.
Why is it when Day hires his buddy who struggles/fails/is washed elsewhere it is a brilliant move that a big boy program makes, but when CBN hires his buddy who has succeeded elsewhere, it is catastrophic for the program, and the sky is falling?
It "looks" bad.....but they are dancing in the streets to be rid of the guy. They have wanted him gone for a while
