Anti-vaxx nutjob bludgeons father to death after learning he got 'the vaccine'

Probably many family and friends placate the conspiracy types in their circle - just not worth hearing their irrational rants and behavior - “just watch this video!”.

 

I've never seen so many obsessive and irrational people around one issue. By definition, therefore, they're immune to rational discussion. They early on stake out a position, then refuse to budge from it as overwhelming evidence to the contrary flows in. That's sad.

 

It would be good study into why people are like that.

We all are inclined that way on some issues, but not to the extent some are. There's no shame in admitting you're wrong. In fact, its a virtue.

Lol, I saw it too but didn’t get the notification because he’s long been blocked. Took me all of 5 seconds to figure out who it was. He’s a joke and honestly it’s a shame that he and many others like him are allowed to post on here and spread blatant misinformation on a daily basis. Freedom of speech is one thing, but there needs to be consequences when that speech hurts others. Everyone of his posts should be censured because they’re all 100% factually incorrect.

Yeah you would think there would be standards. Any other form of trolling would not be allowed. But I guess since it is politics flat out lies are now considered legitimate speech.

Ok, I'll grant you there is indeed an inordinate degree of insanity involved wrt the vax. However, it works both ways. WTF is it to X, if Y doesn't want to get faxed?

For my part, I got the vax. Personal, informed decision. I know quite a few who did not get vaxd, and we do not begrudge one another.

Sidenote: my personal covid death toll (ppl I personally knew who died of covid) is now in the double digits. At least 4 were anti vaxxers, who died after the vax was available.

It's sad, but...such is the price of freedom.

I’m glad you made the rational decision and were able to look past the politics of it. sorry it has impacted those around you.

As to why X cares what Y does, there was a point where the vaccines provided some, albeit not perfect protection from transmission. As time went on and more variants came about the protection from transmission decreased.
