I would add that Hur like Weiss in the Hunter Biden case were both holdovers from the Trump administration. Garland appointed both to avoid the appearance of favoritism. Interestingly when Jeff Sessions appointed Robert Mueller as special counsel and Mueller wasn't even a Democrat, Trump fired him and when Sessions ran for the Senate again Trump endorsed Tommy Tuberville.

Apparently there is actually language in the report itself exonerating Biden for willfully keeping classified documents.

Garland should have pulled a Barr and just spun what the report said to the press in glowing terms for Biden.

FYI, tonight Trump said Viktor Orban was the leader of Turkey.

I read the executive summary. On balance, I thought it was pretty fair. There was one paragraph that should have never been in there, where Hur talks about how Biden would be a sympathetic, well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory to a jury and therefore it would be hard to get a conviction. He's either guilty or he is not. It just wreaks of political bias and a need to throw some red meat to Fox news and MAGA so as not to be condemned for not indicting Biden, like he had to give them something. If that paragraph comes out, though, the rest is reasonable. He even goes so far as to draw a clear distinction between what Biden did and how he behaved once they discovered the documents and what Trump did and how he behaved. Not even remotely comparable for reasons any normal-thinking person already knows. Plus, much of the focus was on a notebook Biden kept, which apparently Reagan did the very same thing and was never prosecuted for it so it would be hard to prosecute Biden for the same thing.

Maybe because that is just a bunch of lies you tell yourself to make you feel better about voting for the scum of the earth.

When Biden says "my memory is fine," he's lying or he's delusional too and doesn't know that he's lying. (Same goes for old man Trump, with his Haley to blame for Jan. 6, etc., but I don't need to tell you that Trump is a pathological liar.) I'm the same age as Biden, and I know damn well that I have memory lapses. I know what it's like and it's frustrating as hell. Once I couldn't even readily remember the name of that head coach who made love to a shark. (At least I remembered the shark.) Of course I'm not an old broken-down politician with a reason to lie about it and sound stupid too. Anyone here about my age who wants to say your memory is fine? If it is, I'd say that you are an exceptional human being. I have to sign off now and drive over to Mexico City for a doctor's appointment.

I wasn't being sarcastic about the Hur report executive summary. If you take it at face value, which admittedly is hard to do because of the bias in the one paragraph, it is fairly reasonably written, to me anyway. Biden did some things he shouldn't have, but they didn't rise to the level of indictable (or is it indicktable) crimes. I would guess that if Trump had immediately turned over the documents when requested, they probably wouldn't have pressed charges. It's the obstruction and everything else that gets him in trouble.

Given that the only president (more accurately described as the former president) who will actually be on trial is the one with the orange complexion and 91 outstanding criminal indictments on multiple counts, the "bumbling idiot" defense would probably be more applicable to Donald Trump especially considering that were it not for his Narcissistic Personality Disorder he probably would not have been indicted in the first place. If he accepted his loss and conceded he would not have been indicted in Georgia or DC and if he returned the classified documents when requested he wouldn't have been indicted in Florida and although a civil case if he was able to restrain himself he wouldn't facing an $83 million judgment for defaming E. Jean Carroll although in that case the "bumbling idiot" description applies as much to the defendant's attorney as to the defendant himself.

I understand that Alina Habba will be teaching a class in trial practice at the soon to be opened Trump University School of Law.

Now take Trump out of this and make some real arguments why I’m not completely accurate. You guys know Biden is a complete idiot being guided by God knows who at this point. If he was your Dad you’d take his car keys.
