Actually that's not true anymore, but I'll refrain from revealing the latest classified markings in a public forum.

Bottom line, you usually don't keep your security clearance.if you keep documents, hence why both should be barred from service. The rest is political, which I don't give a shit about since I personally won't be voting in the next election.

It's been a decade since I had any clearance. Worked for a company in a building that occasionally housed docs up to Secret, and the owner wanted someone from each dept with clearance. My boss was Israeli in the process of getting his citizenship, so couldn't get clearance. Other person in the dept was the boss' grandchild, who had some minor legal issues, though was cleaning himself up and getting his degree in his mid 20s. That left me.

Plenty of DOJ history and precedence on cases like this. Yes, lost of clearance is often the case, even when no charges are filed. But Biden is the sitting POTUS. Can't revoke his clearance. Maybe they can after he's POTUS? But even then, he'll have a right to review all docs regarding his Presidency.

I think we are about to learn from SCOTUS that breaking the law only matters if you are convicted, when it comes to being on a presidential ballot.

While regrettable one box of documents in itself doesn’t seem to come to the level of prosecution, unless intentional and highly sensitive. However the comments on his memory are pretty damning.

So much for the entire Justice department being in the tank for Biden.

    This is really bad:

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/nati...-classified-documents-special-counsel-report/

Hur’s report portrayed Biden as well-intentioned but sometimes hapless and forgetful, a man who had access to classified materials throughout his decades-long government career. The special counsel noted that Biden’s 2017 memoir ultimately did not contain classified information.

Prosecutors said that in their interviews with the president, Biden sometimes struggled to recall basic facts about his career and his life.

“He did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended (‘if it was 2013 — when did I stop being Vice President?’), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began (‘in 2009, am I still Vice President?’),” the report said.

The report recounts that Biden did not remember “even within several years” when his son Beau died. It says his memory appeared “hazy” in recounting even the debate over Afghanistan that “was once so important to him.”

Maybe it's just me although Hur didn't find Biden culpable in a criminal sense he included gratuitous and unnecessary commentary clearly intended to torpedo Biden's bid for reelection. A statement similar to what Comey stated regarding Clinton's mishandling of emails i.e. that "no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case [against her]" would have been more than sufficient to explain why he was recommending against prosecution of Biden.

Have you ever been in a deposition. Bahahahahaha. That is your retort to this? He’s forgetful because he’s put on the spot? He’s the President of the United States!

You could argue that was unprofessional or politically motivated, but I have no reason to think he was lying.

I didn’t think Comey should have said everything he did, but I don’t doubt it was true and I think he believed he was right in making those statements.

I couldn’t care less whether he gets charged or not. I just find it funny that in the face of numerous gaffes and repeated brain farts there are still those here that think Biden is a legitimate candidate worthy of their vote. Why not just admit your hate for Trump is so strong that you’d vote for someone with one foot in memory care lockdown over him? Don’t come here defending it like @citygator and his ridiculous tantrum earlier in the thread.

I'd vote for a piece of celery over Trump. This isn't good for Biden but in a 1 v 1 with Trump, Trump did 10x worse on docs, Trump's mental acuity is also declining (who repeatedly brags about passing a dementia test?), and then you add in his other criminal charges, Jan 6th, sexual assault, along with his narcissism and toxic personality traits. I'd prefer to have the opportunity to vote for someone other than Biden but if it's Biden v Trump it's no contest.

I’ll admit to that. But my hate for Trump is not for petty matters. I think he is dangerous and mentally unhinged and incompetent.

This thread title is incorrect. The report actually says they found EVIDENCE of it. Well, duh. The documents in his house are evidence of it. Later in the report, they say that there is "a shortage of evidence" that Biden intentionally kept the Afghanistan documents. They also say that Biden could have legitimately believed he was allowed to keep his notebooks that had classified information in them based on Reagan having done the same.

Saying that Biden willfully kept classified docs is not consistent with the report's conclusions. Otherwise, they would have recommended charges.

Between the old guy who was an absolutely shitty President and said he wants to be a dictator and the old guy who is a mediocre President and doesn't want to be a dictator, it's an easy choice. I find it pathetic that any self-respecting American could vote for Donald Trump after January 6th. And you can't even make it about mental acuity. Because Trump is senile as hell. He thinks Nikki Haley and Nancy Pelosi are the same person.
