Getting this thread out early, as the next couple of days are super busy. Can the Gators (15-7/5-4) get a big home win over the Tigers (18-4/7-2)? The game tips off Saturday, Feb 10 at 3:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on SECn. Pick the score, the Most Valuable Gator (MVG), and the Stat of the Game (SoG). SoG is pts for Auburn's J Broome, who averages 15.7. Can the Gators hold Broome in check? My pick: Gators 88 Tigers 71 MVG Clayton Jr. SoG 17
I don't anticipate one, but that might be my optimism speaking. Auburn plays pretty good defense. Let's see how they hold up against Bama tonight.
Score after regulation is UF 76 Barners 76 It goes to OT. Gators squeak one out 85-83. MVG is Kugel. Not for points/rebounds/assists/steals but for drawing fouls and shut down D. Not a big enough metric in the MVG metric for either one. I don't know if they are even in the metric. An imperfect measure. But the metric is what it is and is transparent so no complaints. It is all for giggles. SOG is 16.
Gators. 79 Tigers. 77 Pullen. MVP SOG. 19 pts Auburn is physical upfront, I hope Handlogten can stay with their bigs and make a difference. I am optimistic that we want this one and send them home bummed. Defend the ‘ Dome! Gators.
